Found Smoke Reason 3L
3L model . Found the reason some people complain about smoke, well part of the reason. I thought the bottom panel looked like it had clear plastic on it like the lid has blue plastic. I tried to peel it off, but I couldn't because there wasn't any plastic on it. I thought maybe, I just wasn't able to peel the plastic. Being the OCD Mr fix-it man that I am, I decided to void warranty and remover the bottom panel, and heat it with a heat gun, to maybe help remove the plastic. As I said earlier, there ended up not being any plastic, BUT the heat gun revealed some spots on the metal. As you see the spots in the pic, those spots didn't show up until they were heated by my heat gun. My best guess is it is some sort of oil residue from the machinery cutting the holes in the panel, like cutting oil machinist use. It could possibly be something else from the parts above, that maybe dripped something on the bottom during manufacturing. It is not from use, because I took it apart before I ever used it to see why people said it was smoking. Now the good news, it didn't smoke at all. I'm not sure if it was because I already burned the mystery stains off or some other reason. I did notice that the instructions warned more than once to unplug when done, and to also make sure the outlet used to plug it into, has ground. For those not sure how to do that, you can buy an outlet checker here on Amazon. An outlet checker simply plugs in like everything that plugs into an outlet, and let's you know if hot, neutral, and ground are wired correctly. It's a good idea to check all your outlets with such a device. I suspect some of the bad reviews may be the result of using bad outlets. For those wondering about minimum water level, the manual says simply, be sure there is enough water to completely cover whatever you're cleaning, and no more water than the maximum line in pan. It also warns about using no water, which I also suspect some of the bad reviews may be because of that. All that said, it actually works great! Wish it came with the ability to switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I ended up printing a conversion chart. I got this for my partials dentures mainly. Before this, I bought the highest rated crappy plastic magnsonic brand, it was horrible. I don't know how it has so many sales and good ratings. It literally melted the epoxy holding the transducer to the pan, then fell down and melted the plastic housing. So if you're looking at that one, or this one, spend a few more bucks and get this one. This Vevor 3L is hands down the best for the money . Last but not least, just my opinion, use distilled water, it has zero particles , just pure water. Don't use tap, bottled purified/drinking water

did not last long
I purchased this 6 months ago and used it approximately 4 times for a total of 2 hours worth of running time. This morning when I went to turn it on the display was dead and nothing works. This is the second cheap piece of crap that I have bought (first one a different brand) and both have lasted about the same amount of time. I have learned my lesson!

Works great on your wife's well used jewelry
Vevor ultrasonic cleaner was very easy to use and works great. We cleaned many pieces of my wife's jewelry after trying it out on a bracelet. Had we sent all the pieces out, it would have cost much more than the ultrasonic cleaner cost. So a great value as well.

It works with caution
This does work and I have used it to clean a carburetor on a snowblower with great success. However the heater even though it has a temperature setting does not shut off and the temperature went way over where I set it. So my recommendation would be don't take your eyes off this thing.

Pleased with this 3L Ultrasonic cleaner!
This compact 3L Ultrasonic cleaner is just right for my needs. I use it mainly for cleaning watch parts and some jewelry. I don't need anything bigger and it is easy to store out of the way when not in use. One side note...there seems to be a mix up about this unit having a drain. I can assure that It does NOT! Was disappointed when unboxing, but it turns out I don't need a drain and prefer it without. Again, the unit is of such size that it is easy enough to dump out the water or other cleaning solution. It does take a little time to heat up. So, I just set the temperature, turn the heater on and go do something else for about 10-15 minutes. But once heated, it stays constant. Heat can make quite a difference when cleaning parts that are more dirty than usual. The only difference in this "black label" versus the "blue label" unit is the frequency 50kHz vs 40kHz. All in all, I believe this is a fantastic US cleaner at a reasonable cost.

Works awesome!!!
Love this thing. Only gave it a four star because the heating element is pretty slow. Quicker to boil water and pour it in then turn the heater on. Cleans grease of bolts and small car parts easy. In hindsight I should have gotten a much bigger one. the heater being slow is my only gripe with it!Update: used it last week to clean jewelry and it worked fine. Auto timer shut off and the entire unit stopped working. Worked awesome until it broke.

Popped fuse, easy replacement
Note that the back of this ultrasonic cleaner says that it is rated from 100 volts to 120 volts. After very limited use, the ultrasonic cleaner was no longer working. I found in the back that it needed a fuse but comes with an extra. I measured my wall voltage to be 125 volts, slightly higher than the specs. It worked pretty well while it was working, it works again after changing the fuse. Updated: replaced fuses still broken

Bike parts have never been so clean
I got this exclusively for cleaning the chain and other small drive train components from my bikes and I love it. Hot water and some degreaser, or just dish soap, turn it on and let it go. Instantly you can see a black cloud flowing off the parts.Never have I gotten a chain so clean. Finished it off with a trip to the oven on low to boil out any residual moisture from inside the links. It's basically brand new, and with precious little effort. The machine is a little noisy for my taste. You wouldn't want to have it running in the room with you while watching a movie or something. But if you can live with a little noise for a few minutes you too can have the smoothest running, quietest bike ride you'll ever get. Never again will I go back to the clamp on brush cleaner. It takes more work, does a worse job, and makes more of a mess. This model isn't really quite big enough to put the full cassette in, but you can mostly submerge it and rotate a couple of times if you like.I would like to give that a 4.5, just because it could really use a pour spout. The basin you use for water and whatever you intend to clean is not removable, and so to empty it you have to tip the whole machine out into the sink. That isn't hard, it isn't that big and is actually very light, but if the upper rim of the machine were shaped to form a convenient pour spout on one side it might be a little nicer or less messy to empty it.

Excellent!
This works really well and is great value for money. Very pleased with it. Using it for cleaning carburettors and other components on vintage motorbikes.
