I have used many peelers in my life. Never one from Microplane, but when I noticed the OXO serrated peeler I was using had chipped teeth, I wondered, did those get consumed? So I immediately looked for a replacement and owning a complete set of Professional Graters from Microplane, I trusted this would be of similar quality. It is razor sharp, and I am wondering when I am going to lacerate myself, which I have done several times using their graters. This tool is razor sharp and should be used carefully. It peels veggies easier than anything I have previously used. it is hefty as well, I know it's made better than probably anything else on the market. Only the best tools for me please.

Peelers that allow me to work quickly are valued - and because most traditional peelers are sharper on one side - are really designed for right handers. So I learned to peel right handed. Every so often aid think that I should get something nicer than the thin, stainless peeler - and each one would not perform as well as the inexpensive, older model. I even bought the green plastic one that everyone raves about and found that I had to clear out peels with every swipe. Not fast. Then I almost cut off the top of my right thumb and could not use it for weeks. And my search began for a peeler that has equally sharp blades on both sides. As noted above I started with the highly rated plastic one and it was awful. Not a great feel in the hand and had to be cleared out with every swipe. And then I found this one and thought I’d try it. It’s been amazing. It has good heft in my hand without being too heavy. It peels great. In BOTH hands. Now ai can’t decide if I’m a lefty or righty peeler anymore!
