I like it.
I ordered this so I could teach myself free motion quilting. I was able to learn FMQ with this foot. I saw some that were cheaper but I choose this one because it looked like it was of better quality than some cheaper ones. It seems to be made well and with practice I can FMQ. So, so far I like it!

Works great on my Janome
I have a Janome 3022, and, seeing that the generic brands of quilting feet were supposed to fit both Brother and Janome machines, I took a small risk in ordering this one since it is significantly less expensive. It worked perfectly, exactly as it was designed to, right out of the package, though I did choose to modify it to eliminate the hopping action and to turn it into an open foot. What I did to modify it should work for anyone who wants to change this foot into an open-toe, non-hopping foot. I clipped the front of the clear plastic foot open with wire cutters (used the red lines as a guide and cut open at an angle from them) and then sanded it with a nail file. To eliminate the hopping, I then bent the wire that is at the top of the the foot back so it would no longer tap against the screw that caused it to hop, and wrapped a rubber band right below the wire at the top to adjust the foot so it would just skim the fabric. Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase and glad I bought the cheapest foot available. I actually think, looking at pictures of the generic foot, that this was made by the same manufacturer, despite coming in a brand-name label.

best free motion foot for the price anywhere!
This original Brother accessory is high quality all the way - very sturdy plastic and a strong spring. It's 1/3 the price of some that are cheap rough metal and have flimsy springs that I have gotten on ebay, besides qualifying for free shipping on a $25 order. (The rest of my order was books). Right out of the package it fits my Brother, my Janomes, and my new Singer. I modified this particular foot to fit my older 70s Singer by bending the top bar down with needlenose pliers since it has a shorter needle shaft. So as I'm concerned it's a universal fit. For the reviewer who counted off points for it being closed toe - that's the style it is instead of open toe. Sometimes you need closed toe if you are stitching over other threads or they will get caught on the open toes. Since I have another closed toe foot I used a craft knife to cut out the plastic between the two red lines on this one, smoothed the edges with sandpaper, and now have a perfect open toe foot :o) I highly recommend the Brother brand for anyone needing a FMQ foot.

Great for quilting!!!
Very fast shipping and no problems with the product! I bought this foot for my Brother SQ9000 and it fits like a gem. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is I wished it came with some sort of illustration/instruction on how to install it on one's machine. However, after viewing a couple similar youtube videos and tinkering with my machine, I was able to figure it out. It was quite fast and simple to install. As noted by other reviewers, if this is your first time using this foot, you will want to practice and make sure you're comfortable using it before tackling your project. This foot definitely makes it easier sewing several layers together--no more getting it stuck in the feed dogs. You also have more control with how you want to turn your fabric. However, the down side is you gotta pace yourself with feeding the material (since you have to put the feed dogs down when using this foot) so the stitches aren't as even but I think with more practice, it'll get better. Definitely worth the buy if you're a quilter and especially for this price, you can't find it anywhere else for this kind of deal!

Works great
I'm a beginner sewist and had to look up videos on YouTube on how to attach this to my machine, but after I figured it out and got to practicing, it did the job! It fit perfectly on my Brother GX37, was easy to glide the fabric under, did not squeak or make any other concerning noise like my sewing buddy warned may happen with a cheaper/not-from-a-real-sewing-store darning foot, and the clear part made it super easy to see where I was going with my stitches. So glad I got it to finish my first quilt!

Have the foot now I need to learn FMQ
I have a Brother CE-4000, a Costco special, that I got a few years ago to learn on and see if I would enjoy sewing. I more than enjoy it, I'm addicted! I've found my niche is quilting and usually just stitch in the ditch, but I want to learn free motion quilting. I was happy to find that my machine will support FMQ so I got this foot to give it a try. I've used it on one project and it works great. I need a lot more practice, but the foot is perfect. My machine has a very small throat so I won't be doing significant projects, but this will allow me to learn and practice while I save for a new machine.

Good price, good quality, fast shipping!
I found this item to be at a great price! Other places sold it for much more than Amazon. The shipping cost was also reasonable. I received the item very quickly.I was a little disppointed because the instructions included with this item are vary vague and difficult to read. The pictures are small and not very detailed. However, I think the instructions are pre-packaged in the item so not necessarily a seller problem. I would just recommend searching for turtorial videos... I found quite a few on YouTube. This was a great help.Be sure to practice before actually using this on a quilt. It's easy to learn! Thanks for another great purchase!
