Dap 10310 Plaster of Paris Tub Molding Material, 8-Pound, White

This plaster is a great value, cheaper than the local hardware store. I used this for my art projects, and it mixes well and is a very good quality.

The plaster is excellent. Great value, good workability. It's exactly like you'd expect.*However* Amazon's shipping job leaves much to be desired. The lid pops off during shipping (A single wrap of table would stop it, but only its snap-cap holds it on.) I do not fault Dap for this - a snap lid is normal for these and it works great when you buy it in a normal physical store. I do fault Amazon for the packing job. A simple bit of cushioning would stop it popping off, or shipping it in a box labeled with "This way up" or " fragile"... maybe even both those labels!I'm still giving 5 stars even though both the first and the replacement tub Amazon sent popped open. This is because the bad packing job is not Dap's fault, and Amazon did a simple "we'll send you a replacement.... keep the broken open one." return process, which was welcome. I'm not going to report the second tub also breaking open because I feel I have been made whole by two partial containers for the price of one full container.

The plaster it self is great my problem is with the shipping very little attempt was made to ensure that the item was secure and a bunch of it spilled out into the box and onto my floor

This product is the dry powder, not premixed. Great value for the money, large size container, easy to use, quality material from a well known brand.

Love the container, much better than the milk carton or sand bag options. I thought this was a really good deal too, 10 bucks for the 8lb tub. Great! Be careful though, some other sellers are selling the 4lb tub for twice what this costs and I think they are hoping people don't notice it is for only 4lbs... This seller was solid though. I love this stuff so much I've come close to powdering my pancakes with it on several occasions. Delicious?!

There's nothing to say about Plaster of Paris. It's perfect at what it does. I'm using it for mold smoothing for casting.But please pay attention to this and the other commenters (which I should have done) and order it in another packaging. The top comes off in transit.I had other stuff in the box which was fortunately just iron mold forms. But if I'd had my usual array of electronic components they'd have been ruined.I figured the other commenters were just "unfortunate flukes, that would never happen to me."It's frustrating as...can be. But, for the price it's not worth pursuing. Probably 1/3 pound of it was just all over the inside of the box.I decided to take the picture as soon as I pulled the lid open (having seen powder on my front porch.) I'd have taken another shot when I finally figured out how much had spilled. But by then my hands were covered in the stuff and I didn't want to get my phone all gummed up.

Just what I needed
