Hello, i am moving to a new house. how many sage sticks would you have to burn to cleanse it? and how long does one stick burn for? thank you in advan

You’ll probably only need one sage stick and even then, only part of it. Light the smudge stick and waft or blow on it until the smoke really gets going. Hold it so that the ash drops into the shell. Start from the bedroom that you are going to be sleeping in and work your way around the upstairs of the house and then downstairs and finish the smudging at the main entrance point. The idea is to cleanse your home from the inside towards the outside moving any negativity as you go. This shouldn’t take too long but there will be a lot of smoke so you might need to open the windows (it’s quite pungent). You can use a chant like: “I cleanse this space of all negativity, may only love and light remain” as you go round each room and space in the house. You can move the string along the smudge stick slightly so that it doesn’t catch light. When you reach the main entrance to the house, you can finish by saying: “This home is now cleansed!” If you wish you can finish with “Amen!” Or “In love and light!” Whichever you feel more comfortable with. You can open the door as well as if you are literally showing any negativity the way out. If you want to carry out sage smudging on a regular basis, I would suggest that you trust your own intuition - if you feel that your space needs cleansing, then cleanse it. Sleep paralysis is this - your mind is awake bit your body is still asleep. From here you can easily leave the body into astral body and travel freely. Do ya take the string off the sage when smudging

No the string is what hold the sage wand together. What i do is as the sage burn and the string is burned and loose i retied the string to keep the sage together.

How large is the box when posted, please?

Hi it’s about 9 or 10 inches by 5 inches that’s only approximate because I didn’t keep the box

Gorgeous set!

The set came beautifully packaged containing everything you need to get started. Three small white sage bundles to use on a shell plate, a wooden stand, sand and feather presumably for wafting.The sage was lit over a candle for a few seconds before left to rest in the shell dish. The smell was lovely and calming.The sage doesn't stay lit, burn down or smoke for long, maybe a minute or two so plenty of uses per stick.'Recommend' to relieve your home of negative energy or spirits. We just bought it as we liked the set and the smell.I'd recommend it as a gift, honestly it's a bit pricey for what you get, but it's a really nice set.
