I highly recommend this book to anyone who only wants a one-book story with great characters and high tension. It's an intelligent story that doesn't reduce the characters to basic archetypes. 5/5 Review: There are things I can’t tell you…*SPOLIERS*! - I was browsing desertcart for BL manga and I sure found one that I loved. I loved the story and read right through it the day it came. I found the story great and the two love making scenes are beautifully drawn. Like very loving and now so raunchy..lol if you’re looking for a love story that started in their childhood and continues to adults, I highly recommend this one! I wish there was more though, cuz of course they FINALLY get together in the last few pages but it’s still adorable!

Beautifully sweet & emotional Boys Love Manga
“There Are Things I Can’t Tell You” by Edako Mofumofu is a yaoi single-volume manga that leans shonen-ai & actually even dips into the realities of being Japanese & gay (& going against traditional gender stereotypes). Yaoi, being a genre mostly created & consumed by women, I usually don’t expect too realistic of a queer storyline, but this one surprised me. From the gorgeous (& kinda cover), I was expecting an emotive plot, but thankfully it grounded said emotional plot-line in a touching way that felt very real. It basically tells the story of two childhood best friends who have weaved in & out of each other’s lives. They’ve recently reconnected in their established adult career lives, but Kyousuke is struggling with being Kasumi’s friend again when his friend is the 3rd party in an affair with a married woman. The chapters basically alternate perspectives & slowly unweave their backstory & how they met. While it leans more realistic & shonen-ai (non-explicit), there are two or three spicy scenes, so it’s definitely only for adult readers. However, said scenes seemed purposeful & not egregious. My favorite part of the story though is the well-crafted love story, even if it maybe leans toward them being “soulmates” of a kind. Part of their character & relationship development is also centered in showing the trauma they endured growing up in a homophobic (& at least verbally abusive) households. Definitely a volume I’ll read again. Now I just wish I had a print of the cover to hang on my wall. 💜 Oh, & without spoiling the story… it’s definitely NOT a tragic story. Lastly, my one slightly negative criticism is that while it isn’t too enamored with all yaoi cliches, it still has minor mentions of strict bottom / top yaoi characterizations of the main duo… but it’s mostly only implied in the story & worded in the bonus content. Truly the minor-ist of quibbles, but it does stick out somewhat if you’re used to yaoi stereotypes / tropes (& the problems therein). Still highly recommend. 💜

A good read, excellent characters.
It is a very enjoyable story, lots of angst, but love Won out in the end, though it wasn't clear that would happen until the last few pages! I would have enjoyed a little bit more story of the two as a happy couple. I hope Edako writes another manga. Recommended!

Amazing quality, amazing story
At first I didn’t want to buy it cause I’ve seen reviews of people getting their books damaged, but this was as if I personally went to the store to buy it. Good quality for its price and amazing story (had me tearing up a little) it was an emotional roller coaster loved it.

The best BL manga ever
This manga is so beautiful, I love every damn page I went thru. An emotional Rollercoaster, simply, HEARTWARMING. 2 boys, grow up to be men, who question their feelings for eachother, one is afraid to not live a "normal" life if he follows his heart, and the other is hated and abandoned by his parents and wants happiness. They both go through the waves of their relationship as friends, which turns into this beautiful love. 100 percent reccomend if you are into BL manga(which I'm assuming you are if you're reading this) 100/10 I will cherish this manga forever.
