Spyderco Byrd CaraCara 2 Folding Pocket Knife, CombinationEdge

This Byrd line from Spyderco is an excellent example of affordable quality. Very well made and not so expensive you lose sleep over incidental wear and tear. They are also superb platforms for hand engraving.

This knife is from Spyderco's less-expensive Byrd line and is a good buy for everyday carry, in my opinion. I had the version of this knife with a polymer handle for a long time and lost it. I replaced it with this all-stainless version. It's solid and tightly put together, and quite sharp out of the box. It is noticeably heavier than the one I lost, and at first, the blade operation was pretty resistant, especially releasing the lockback mechanism to close it. After a week or so, it became easier to open and close, and I'm very happy with it. I hope I don't lose it.

Great knife for the price. Husband uses it at work but we notice the other day it look rusted but he was able to clean with some cleaner and the rust spots came off. However he still love the knife.

I love this little knife, and although I lose one every few years because it falls out of my pocket or whatever I'm carrying it in, it's never the knife's fault, so I always buy an identical new one. It's slim but substantial in your hand, and maintains an edge for quite a while. I have only one complaint, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why it comes with the clip on the side and end of the knife that it does. Anyone who's ever actually used the clip on a pocket or would have to realize that the knife is "upside down" in your hand, if you clip it on yourself right out of the box. A Torx #6 makes short work of it, however, and you can then put it on correctly in about two minutes. (Most of that time will likely be spent looking for your Torx set.) Other than that, great knife. And I'm sure I'll be buying it again, one day.

I have been on A Knife buying Spree lately and I was never Fond of the way spyderco knifes looked. Thought they seemed Clunky and thick and that the base of the blade protruded to far from the base of the knife. But when I bought the Cara Cara 2. I didn’t know what to expect. But this knife is a total package. Comes right out of the Box Razor sharp. No blade play, Perfect Lock back locking mechanism. Pros: This knife is worth every penny. This is the Spyderco budget knife that has the quality of a higher priced Sypderco. Cons: It’s a little hard to open with one hand as they say Spydy Flick. But don’t let that deter you. Overall A truly well made knife and this was a present to myself for 10 months of Clean and Sober.

bit of a knife geek here and I can say that this is excellent value for the quality that l actually use as EDC. solid build. fits nice in the hand and when it snaps open you know its locked. holds a nice edge. Don't let the 'made in china' fool you, this is serious steel. After i bought one i purchased a feww more that will be given for Christmas gifts. I like to start my shopping early and couldn't pass them up UPDATE 5/23/18 the price had jump quite a bit. bought in Feb at 25 bucks now 38. even the FRN plastic model used to be 20 bucks is now 37.

This is a great knife ! I already had the plastic version and it is not anything like this ! This has got to be the knife deal of the decade WOW ! I would say buy every version there is !

Me gusta mucho el filo de esta navaja, su diseño y el material de que está hecho. Se siente muy bien en la mano y la construcción es de calidad. Byrd que es la división barata de spyderco no escatima en un producto de calidad. No le doy 5 estrellas por algunos defectos que se ven en las fotos.
