Gotta love the I5
Sound better than the Shure 58 and 57. Amazing pick-up. Audix is affordable, practical, and just all out amazing. Can't beat the quality and durability for the price.

Great for snare and vocals!
I use this in large settings for my snare drum or my vocals. Both uses work great! Highly recommend for drummers of all skill level.

The Mic You Need
I was a long time SM57 user and still am, but this mic has replaced it. Wherever I go to sound engineer, I bring this mic as a top snare mic. I’m find myself using less eq since this mic has an eq curve that provides the top end and punch you need. If you are familiar with the SM57, this mic is that and more.

Good mic
This is a great mic. Probably better sounding than the classic SM57 but does not feel as well constructed. I doubt it would be a durable but I don’t know for sure. I’ll get back to you in 75 years.

Great Deal on an Incredible Microphone
Make no mistake, this is a professional quality microphone for recording a wide range of instruments from acoustic guitars, to guitar amp cabs, to snare drums. I just wish the rest of my equipment was as good to realize the full potential of this mic. You definitely want to get a good preamp and computer interface or mixing board to do home recordings. Most places sell just the mic for $99, here you also get a great stand which someone would probably want to charge you an arm and a leg for, included in the deal. The stand is great too, it's sturdy, rugged and great for recording guitar cabs as it is very versatile too. I don't see how you can hesitate on this deal. Get This!

What a steal!
My friend recommended I buy the Audix I5, he said it was his favorite mic for live performance (he's a drummer). I bought one for my home studio and micd everything from an acoustic guitar to a tamborine and this mic is amazing for the price. With the SM-57 and 58 setting the gold standard this is a notch above. Which is why I bought another one with this package. I paid $99 for the mic alone at a local retailer. I paid the same here and got a really good samson mic stand AND a cable! Talk about getting hooked up. Although the I-5 is pretty good for live vocal performance, I wouldn't use it in a recording situation. As for micing cabs and drums this is a great mic for the price. They're pretty rugged and sound fantastic.

Great Microphone for my snare drum
I read the reviews about how this mic works better representing a snare drum than the Shure SM-57 (what I was using). I have to agree. The difference is subtle but in live situations and in the studio, it seems to let that extra pop come through. Live it's hard for me to tell but without warning them, my bandmates commented the first time I used it, how much better they "felt" the snare than before. Plus this was a tremendous deal. I saw just the Audix I-5 mic for sale for $95 on Amazon but got it from this seller for $99 including an XLR cable and boom mic stand which would normally be an additional 30-40 bucks). Hard to beat that.

Well made and solid. Comes with a very thin pop filter built in. Slightly brighter than an SM57. Great all round mic
