Review: Great for the student who needs more practice - Some kids really don't need this practice, but it is essential for my daughter. Great book for those whose kids need to continue to practice mechanics. Also good on some usage practice and sentence correcting. One thing I am wondering, is it still relevant to practice how to look up words in a dictionary? A couple of the skills practiced have little relevance today. Do they still test on this? To me, spelling has less importance in a curriculum (some questions on that), but the book has other questions making sure student uses correct word that spellcheck will not find (to/too/two) or (threw/through) etc. I didn't mark down for that, but I'm wondering.
Review: Great series! - I teach fifth grade and have purchased and used this book in addition to Daily Science, Daily Math, and Daily Geography. I love all of them for a number of reasons. It makes for great seat work at the beginning of a class period, it helps me identify gaps in learning and the kids enjoy the work. Overall, I find these books to be a valuable tool in my classroom.
