The best of the lot
The netting on these pellets didn't pull apart upon saturation, as has happened this year with the leading brand, of which I also bought several hundred pellets. The netting on the leading brand has square holes in it, where the netting comes together, causing them to often pull apart as the pellet expands.Wanted a smaller size, mainly for flowers. Bought these. I was pleased with outcome. have used them thus far to "up pot" snapdragon infants grown in a plastic blueberry container and to seed about a hundred perennial seeds (echinacea, rudbeckia/black-eyed Susans, foxgloves, yarrow, and many others plus another 100+ annual seeds (geraniums, gomphrena, coleus, asters-- things that need more time before first front date...) . Will soon buy larger size to start more veggie starts.I never write reviews; I felt compelled to do so this year. I'm sick of the netting on the side seam of the name brand bursting open, upon expansion. Buy these and you won't have to worry about that happening. Also, I don't use any plastic underlayment or domes. I germinate the pellets in an old plastic swifter container, with a plastic lid (wet mop pads are sold in these containers). I check the boxes every day. Upon germination, I place pellets in a small Garland seed tray, e.g., the one with holes in the bottom. Then I place that tray in a heavy duty 1020 tray. 3 small Garland trays fit into a 1020 tray. This method makes bottom watering a snap. The pellets also don't get as saturated as they do sitting on the plastic underlayment traditionally sold for them. Cuts down on algae formation and diseases, particularly dampening off.

The best
Used these for years for staring Zinnias and Cosmos and love 'em.

Liked these more than some others I’ve tried
I like the outer netting on these. Easy to open to transplant after germination.

Great pod
Earlier this year I bought a Jiffy 72 pod greenhouse and started a mini garden with the kids. We have a second grow season in FL and wanted to go again but Jiffy pods were all out all over the place or marked up in pricing. These pods fit perfectly into the green house and I prefer them already over the actual Jiffy pods. These expand much faster than the Jiffy pods and are much easier/better to take apart. The Jiffy pods are a cloth like material that has a tendency to pull off root runners when removing the material. These use more of a mesh material that allowed the running roots to remain attached and slide right through the mesh when it was removed. Same seed varieties in different pods also performed better in these vs the Jiffy putting out more roots and growing taller in the same time frame.

As expected
They work just like they're supposed to. I'll probably buy more again here when the time comes if they are still priced well.

Easiest planting I've ever done.
So convenient! Came in a thick ziplock bag. No wasted packaging. These perfect little peat tablets that suck up water and instantly expand. The netting around them is easy to tear. I planted 2 packages of seeds in minutes. When they sprout I will update. Just tear the netting off at transplant time. No mess. No gloves. No shovels. No filling individual pods. Just one large tray..add water. Stick the seed in. Done.Edit...I planted on May 24th. I had them in a tray outside with a cover and a burlap scrap over the top to keep it from getting too much sun while I was gone. These updated pics are 3 DAYS layer, the 27th of May. Not only are they sprouting but the tap root is already out the bottom on some! I have NEVER seen seeds sprout so quickly!

Easy Seed Starting
This is my first time using peat pellets. I had a granddaughter place the pellets in a tray and water them. They popped right up which was really fun. We planted a zinnia or sunflower seed in each and in 3-4 days the seeds sprouted. I was happy to find these made in the USA which was the reason I tried them. They will be my go-to for seed starting from now on.

Little growth, hard to wet.
The size is wrong for most seed starters, one pellet is too small. So you strip the membrane off & add a second. Planted numerous different seeds, in these pods, in a jiffy windowsill holder, maintained adequate moist, warm, etc.. two seeds came up. Did better w miracle grow seed starter mix.
