More Than Your Average 'Economic Collapse Scenerio' Book
I've read quite a few books lately based on the concept of the world's economy collapsing, but Microchip was probably one of the most unique and detailed reads I've come across in this niche genre. Microchip actually follows many different characters- which is always a style of writing I really enjoy. And in this specific book the storyline is so detailed that it truly does take many different character perspectives to grasp the idea. The background story of Microchip is that the world's economy has collapsed and the new world government is attempting to regain order. In their attempt to do so they create a 'biochip' which is essentially a microchip placed into the palm of ever citizen by government requirement. These microchips are the new currency system, and the idea of banks and financial institutions becomes obsolete. This biochip is not optional- it's a requirement. Fear of the biochip causes many people to run, trying desperately to avoid being chipped. The government seems to have been on par with their idea, as things begin to calm- but something doesn't seem quite right, and what's wrong may be linked to the government and their ever-prized biochip. An intense read, this book definitely wasn't one of those books that you can set down half-way through and pick up a week later. The intensity continued to grow until the climax at the very end- and once you're in the story, you're in, and you just can't stop reading. There's a bit of everything here. Intense action with well-placed scenes that build you up at just the right moment. Deeply moving emotions that grip you and make you connect on an even deeper level with each of the characters. There's romance, suspense, great character development and a storyline that will have you thinking about the book long after you've finished the last page.I like that the book was set at a time that is supposed to be in the near future to 2015 (the year the book was published). It seemed very realistic and possible, and that made it an even more fun book to delve into. It was definitely one of the best 'economic disaster' books I've read, and I am definitely a fan.

Fascinating Book!!!
This is a wonderful book. Once the adventure starts it is impossible to stop reading. The tale is told from the prospective of several characters, this keeps the story flying as it passes to and from some fascinating people and places. This is a book of fiction, it takes place in the future, however there is information in this book that is not fantasy, it is true and it is happening now. Everyone should read this book. It is smart and well written and unforgettable.

Not a novel for a Christian, at least not this one.
This rating is not meant to attack Ms. Barnes, I wish her the best. The book might actually be very good, however I didn't get but just a very short way into it, the language was way over the top for what I choose to read. I was browsing in what I thought was just christian novels and this offering was mixed in. Before I was born again I would have read this book and the rating may have been a five.

Prophetic in Nature, Genius by Design....when is Volume 2 due?
Microchip by Chey Barnes is a good book if you like lots of involved dialog that progresses the story along. It is well done in this book. I can only imagine the amount of research that went into writing this book as it is deep in the understanding of the banking industry, the IT realm and combine that with the element of believable dialog and social interaction and you have a well-written book. It is also sidelined with some well received Biblical implications of the end times. Some twists and turns occurred at some very unpredictable times which kept it moving forward. The love interest in this book also was there but did not raise itself up as a primary focus as many books do. Sometimes love does make us do crazy things and this book does show this, but not to the extreme that other books I have read do and then they make you wonder, "why would anyone do that and is it really believable?" This book does not do that but rather glorifies itself on the words of the characters and their points of view. You follow along with each character and the believable aspects of their personalities. The author does well in keeping in touch with the aspect of the created demeanor of each character as almost in the mind of a real person. I can relate to a lot of the personalities in this book to many people I really know. The story line was well executed and received by myself. While I might not be an expert on certain subjects in this book, it was never far fetched or hard to understand; however, Biblical times and prophecies I do understand and follow as I've read many books on it. I can say that it is quite possible how some of this is achieved and possibly be part of how we are "Micro-chipped," in the future.

A story I've been waiting on...kind of
A story I've been waiting on...kind of. I loved the idea of this book. What will happen when we need to take the mark of the beast? How will we survive? I've found very few books on how we actually will. I thought it was very well thought out when it came to how the survivers town would function but left you hanging on some of the relationships of the characters. The book lightly touched on reasons why people wouldn't take the mark, but very little biblical information to back up it up. I did enjoy the book but was left a little confused. Is there to be a book 2? Will there be an explanation on why the mark should not be taken? I hope if there is an next book it will clear everything up. I did enjoy the book overall though.
