As an author, I always look for the kind of investment advice that is new and unique. David Scranton's books, and especially this book, is full of new and exciting information that will help the person looking toward retirement to understand the difference between investing for income and investing for growth. It is a very easy-to-understand book and one that I would heartily endorse. His insight into market history is eye-opening!

This book not only reveals many realities about the current financial media, but also a reasonable way to invest if you are not comfortable with regular volatility associated with the Stock Market. It may be ok with some discretionary investments, but not the money you need to rely on for income. Great Job!

This book would have been a good two page article. Unfortunately, the author repeats himself continuously to try and fill up 167 pages. The information isn’t bad. But, wow, does he ever take a long time to make his point. Let me save you the money: the stock market will crash so buy bonds and bond-like investments instead of stocks. Also, your financial advisor knows nothing so go to the authors businesses. That’s pretty much it. Repeat that same information twenty different ways and you’ve got this book.

This was a well written, insightful, and fun read for those approaching or already in retirement. David makes it clear how one must focus on income in retirement. His stories and analogies are simple making the overall book easy to follow and ultimately making a great deal of sense for retirees.

Well written and interesting book. I nearly read the whole thing in one sitting. Great advice for Boomers who are retired or heading into retirement.

I received this book for free as part of my membership renewal in Bill Spetrino's Dividend Machine. I thought the author would actually talk about his investing for income strategy but he simply rehashes things most people know and he provides zero specifics. This book is simply an advertisement for you to go work with one of his advisors from the Retirement Income Store. I got out of it what I paid for it; nothing!

If I could give it a ZERO I would, like many self published financial books written by many Advisors, this is an overly bias Comercial that he uses to endorse himself! He states on his website he is a bestseller- self proclaimed- not by any well known book rating list like The NY Times list as an example! Save your hard earned dollars on real money authors!
