Extra Strength with HA

I have used this and the Recovery Extra Strength SA (small animals) for my tall labrador retriever. The horse formula is much cheaper and manufacturer assured me it was safe. Obviously, use a proportionate dose for weight.My lab had a serious injury to his knee, tearing his pcl, when very young. Surgeon says arthritis is inevitable. I have tried every formula of glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM (short of injections), herbal remedies and acupuncture. Whatever effect they had was practically negligible compared to the effect of Recovery Extra Strength. I've found that the Extra Strength formula, which includes hyaluronic acid, works significantly better than the regular Recovery formula. My sweet 7 yr old dog is running and walking on all fours with no limping or soreness noticeable, even when he stands up after a long rest.Word of warning. The ingredient resveratrol is derived in part from grapes, and we all know we can't give dogs grapes. From what I can find, there is no evidence on whether this is the harmful component of grapes for dogs. With some soul-searching, I have decided that the significantly improved quality of life this product gives my dog outweighs the risk.

Wonderful product! My horse suffered a high suspensory ligament tear. After lots of expensive treatments, he ultimately re-tore the injury a second time when he spooked while hand-walking. One vet said there was no hope. A second vet offered surgery and only a 50% recovery chance. Well, it worked along with feeding this supplement! He bounced back and I'm positive this supplement helped with the healing process.
