They are precision CNC machined from solid aluminum to precise cartridge dimensions, then hard anodized for ultra-smooth functioning and long life. Review: Great training tool - I now own A-Zoom snap caps in several different calibers and have been pleased with the brand. They are sturdy, well-constructed, and seem to hold up well after repeated use. I recommend snap caps for those who like to practice dry-fire for trigger control, reloading, and clearing drills, and this brand is trusted and proven. I've seen reviews of other brands that seem to fall apart or degrade rather rapidly. These don't last forever, but work well for repeated uses (I've owned my oldest ones for close to a year now and don't see any sign of them failing yet). There are cheaper options, but you get what you pay for. I do not recommend the plastic or hard-rubber dummy rounds, as they can break apart and leave dangerous blockages in your chamber or barrel. Spring-loaded snap caps help protect your firing mechanisms and the hard aluminum casing replicates a brass cartridge for a proper fit. Review: Great for Training - Who cares if the paint chips off? I use this in my G23 and have never had a feeding issue. I use these a lot. I use them so much that it's not even fully red anymore from all scratches and paint chipping on the snap cap. Practice dry firing, reload, tactical reload, trigger control, drills at the range (adding to live rounds in the magazine), and for IDPA practice. Yes, the paint will chip. If you had a live round in the chamber daily and unloaded daily the brass on the round would get run down just the same. As long as it doesn't or hasn't affected the feed and works to protect the firing pin I have nothing to complain about. So if you're looking for a great snap cap to use for practice and drills, I definitely recommend the A-Zoom's. ## Features - Totally safe - Functions just like real ammo - without the noise - Offers versatility: training, storage, testing, practice - Teaches safe gun handling - Thousands of dry fires without damage - Functions like real ammo - Hard anodized aluminum construction ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B002E6R6B4 | | Best Sellers Rank | #104,320 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #438 in Ammunition & Magazine Pouches | | Brand | A-ZOOM | | Brand Name | A-ZOOM | | Caliber | 40 | | Color | Red | | Compatible Devices | Firearms using 40 S & W ammunition | | Cross Section Shape | Round | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 927 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00666692151149 | | Included Components | snap cap (2) | | Item Dimensions W x H | 4.25"W x 0.75"H | | Item Type Name | airsoft-equipment | | Item Weight | 9.07 g | | Manufacturer | Lyman Products Corp. | | Manufacturer Part Number | 15114 | | Material | Aluminum | | Material Type | Aluminum | | Model Name | 15114 | | Model Number | 15114 | | Number of Items | 5 | | Number of Packs | 5 | | Shape | Round | | Size | 40 S and W | | Sport | Target Shooting | | Sport Type | Target Shooting | | Style Name | Classic | | UPC | 666692151149 751738851142 | | Unit Count | 5 Count | | Warranty Description | See manufacturer | ## Product Details - **Brand:** A-ZOOM - **Color:** Red - **Model Name:** 15114 - **Size:** 40 S and W - **Sport:** Target Shooting ## Images ![A-Zoom 40 S & W Snap Cap 5PK, Red (15114) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61L4ixEW4jL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great training tool *by T***I on December 4, 2013* I now own A-Zoom snap caps in several different calibers and have been pleased with the brand. They are sturdy, well-constructed, and seem to hold up well after repeated use. I recommend snap caps for those who like to practice dry-fire for trigger control, reloading, and clearing drills, and this brand is trusted and proven. Spring-loaded snap caps help protect your firing mechanisms and the hard aluminum casing replicates a brass cartridge for a proper fit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for Training *by N***A on July 14, 2012* Who cares if the paint chips off? I use this in my G23 and have never had a feeding issue. I use these a lot. I use them so much that it's not even fully red anymore from all scratches and paint chipping on the snap cap. Practice dry firing, reload, tactical reload, trigger control, drills at the range (adding to live rounds in the magazine), and for IDPA practice. Yes, the paint will chip. So if you're looking for a great snap cap to use for practice and drills, I definitely recommend the A-Zoom's. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No Issues *by M***E on January 25, 2025* I read most of the reviews, both positive and negative before I purchased these. This is my second set of these as I wanted to practice with 10 rounds instead of five. I have cycled these through a Glock 22 and a Ruger SR40C about 500 times in each platform with no issues that others have stated. They may not work for everyone or every weapon, but they worked flawlessly for me in the two weapons listed. ## Frequently Bought Together - A-Zoom 40 S & W Snap Cap 5PK, Red (15114) - A-Zoom 15116 9mm Luger Precision Snap Cap 5 Pack - Azoom .45 ACP Caliber Snap Cap,Red --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ph/products/1738998-a-zoom-40-s-and-w-snap-cap-5pk-red](https://www.desertcart.ph/products/1738998-a-zoom-40-s-and-w-snap-cap-5pk-red) --- *Product available on Desertcart Philippines* *Store origin: PH* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
