Based on the reviews I read, I was a bit concerned about the quality of this storage bench, but I figured I could fix any minor issues so I purchased it anyway. I ended up liking it so much, I purchased two more, stacking two of them on top of each other for more storage space. This is a nice quality furniture piece, the instructions are easy to follow, and I love the barn door!It took me 45 minutes to put together the first bench, and got a little faster with the other two. I do recommend laying out all the pieces before beginning assembly to familiarize yourself with the pieces. And pay attention to each step in the instructions! Someone posted a video that the pieces didn't fit together, but it's clear that they assembled them incorrectly (they put the bottom piece on backwards). All the pieces fit together nicely and I didn't run into any problems with any of the three benches. They all look beautiful with everything nicely aligned and working correctly.If possible, I recommend using your own tools, as the included screwdriver and allen wrench - although thoughtful additions - are pretty low quality. Other than that, assembling these benches was a pleasant experience, and I'm thrilled with the final result!I was also a bit concerned that the cubbies were going to be too small, but this wasn't the case. My hubby wears size 13 sneakers, and although they stick out a little bit at the heel, they fit just fine. My shoes fit perfectly. And I like how the shelves can be adjusted to the level you want them for taller shoes. You can even leave some of the selves out for boots.Some other nice details that I haven't seen others mention is that you get small round stickers matching the finish of the bench that you can use to cover the camlocks, or use them to cover any scratches that might happen in the future. There are also extras of each piece of hardware in case you loose any of them. And several extra little screws are included in case you want to add more to the backboard. I do recommend doing this as otherwise the backboard tends to curve out a bit with humidity in the air.I love this piece of furniture and I saved the brand in my favorites list. I like the look of many of their items, and now that I know the quality, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase more from them. In fact, I already got a smaller shelf unit that matches the width of the benches to add even more storage space. Happy with the result!

Good value, practical, attractive! Easy to assemble

While this chest doesn’t not see much activity on a regular basis, it is a sturdy piece of furniture. I do sit on it often though and even then, I don’t feel any wiggle or teetering. I am 270lbs so I’m used to things not being able to hold me for long. The cushion is comfortable to sit on for a time but nothing to lounge on. I clean it every once in a while and it cleans well. Still looks basically new, considering my dog pees on it from time to time. It also measured exactly as stated and fit right where I intended for it.All in all. A great product and well worth the purchase. I’d buy it again if I ever found another place to put one.

I really like this product, however I did have an issue while assembling it.I always do a complete inventory of every piece according to the instruction manual before I try to assemble a single thing. This time was no different for me. Every item on the Bill of Material and as illustrated was in the package. One thing in particular that I did like was, each of the fasteners and hardware were in separately marked plastic bags. I much prefer this to the more traditional method of a single, long plastic strip with individual heat sealed compartments and a marking as to the contents of each compartment. The separate bags were just plain easier to segregate for assembly.When it came time to start assembling the bench, each panel was clearly marked and matched the illustrations in the instruction manual - I liked that. I assembled the kit on my living room floor carpet, as suggested in the instructions. Everything went together flawlessly and all holes were properly drilled and even the dowel pin holes were drilled to the proper diameter and "correct" depth. There was only one exception and this one had me scratching my head. At the very end of assembly, you attach the bench top cover panel with padding using eight (8) small, wood screws from the hinges to the bottom of the bench seat. I tried and tried to get the screws in, however upon investigation, I realized that all the pilot holes in the bottom of the bench top were missing. That explains why I couldn't get the screws installed. I used a 1/16" diameter drill and drilled about a 1/2" deep for each hole location. I did have a bit of help due to the fact that the fabric on the bottom of the bench seat had small punch out locations where each screw "should" go. I just used these small "plug" cutouts as my template. After that, everything was perfect.My wife really likes how it looks and feels.One additional thing, the part identifier stickers on all the wood and metal parts are paper stickers with the part name printed on each. All kits have these identifier stickers on the component parts. Be forewarned, the paper sticker DO NOT come off easily and leave a residue at each and every location. We messed with getting the sticker glue off at each "visible" location, for quite some time. Recommendation to the manufacturer is to use vinyl stickers that peel off cleanly and easily.Overall grade: B+ to A-
