Art Doodle Love: A Journal of Self-Discovery

First and foremost this book is fun. You can sit in front of the TV and Doodle or any spare moment then put it down again. My doodles tend to be elaborate and take several days or even a week as I go back and forth. You draw in the book - not on a drawing pad so it's self-contained.The book recommends some pen types. I started out with a regular ink pen and wasn't getting the results I wanted to went on Amazon and purchased the pens recommended, which were fairly priced, and they are outstanding. I have a lot of fun with them and they were worth every penny.The book is well designed and pages vary to allow creativity. The colors and details on the pages - even the font lends itself uniquely to the Doodle. It is clear the author understands the art of Doodling and has created a must have book. The size of the book is perfect for a bag as a bring-along.I find myself looking around for shapes and lines to add to my book and seeing my world in a much more creative lens then ever before. There is nothing quite like a good exercise in imagination. :-)It's a great buy if you love to Doodle, and get the pens if you want an extra treat. Have fun! :-)

I took a mini class with Dawn, so I could not wait to buy this book. I wasn't disappointed either. It was chock full of fun exercises, colorful pages waiting for me to put my pen to the paper, only before I could start to enjoy working in it, my 13 yr old daughter hijacked it and has hidden it in a place only she can find. She too fell in love with this really fun book. So I am going to order a new one. The only thing that took me by surprise was the size if the book. It's quite a bit chunkier than I had thought it would be!!!This book is for any person who love to doodle or scribble out cute animals or make bubble letters, or who just loves putting pen to paper. This book won't disappoint. Dawn is an extremely talented artist who has produced a book that will make any doodler happy.

Although I just received my copy, I am already drawing,writtlng, doodling,and yes loving it. I especially love how the pages are heavy and stand up to many mediums, no bleed throughs. Creative page layouts inspire me for my own journals. Great open ended fun, thoughtful, freeingprompts. In general a wonderful way to relax with some quick journaling without getting out all my supplies. You will want this in your library of mixed media books.

It's ok. Kinda fun, but get bored easily. The pages aren't too interactive and unless you use colored pencils or crayons, it'd going to bleed through. Will definitely read more reviews prior to picking the last art journal.

This is truly a doodle-journal. It offers topics to get you going, like fear, a happy day, my childhood home, what a song reminds me of, words that pop into my head, what do I smell, etc. If you like a little meditation or relaxation guidance, this will work well for you. The pages have backgrounds which is fun unless you like to paint or draw your own.

I just got my "Art Doodle Love" book today...and OMG...it is faaaaaaaaabulous!!!!!! I looooove that it looks like a composition book all beautifully done....loooooove that it's a working journal with pre painted pages so we can jump right in....and the prompts are already in there too! A wonderful book for anyone just getting into art journaling....a MUST HAVE for all of you end table studio artists! ...and a DEFINITE must have for anyone wanting to learn how to "loosen up" and just have fun!!!!! ssoooooooo gonna order your other book too! ...thanks you for sharing your fabulous-ness with us Dawn DeVries Sokol !!!!!!!!

This is a great book & it really inspires creativity & dreaming. The beginning of the journal starts a bit slow, but the "prompts" & exercises get more creative & more interesting as you go along. I've had a lot of fun so far filling up the pages & have given this as a gift to several people. The people who received this as a gift seemed very happy & inspired by the idea of this art journal too.

This is a great book to get you started with Journaling. The pages are ready to go with basic and creative art work.Good information about supplies and then guidance in starting to write and explore your inner thoughts. Great smalljournal. Just the right size to be really creative.
