A Great Replacement/Upgrade...
...for my 22" FHD monitor.I bought the 278E1A 27" 4K version (with speakers); and I haven't needed/wanted to make any adjustments to the out-of-the-box condition. The lack of reflection is wonderful (as was the ViewSonic 22" it replaced). The brightness is perfect (my room lighting ranges from bright to very dark). Resolution is better than my aging/macular-challenged eyes can appreciate. And it has speakers that have allowed me to clear my desktop of two slightly-better speakers (I only need/want speakers for the few Zoom meetings I participate in, plus for a picture-in-a-picture TV broadcast when I'd rather not turn around and watch news on a "real" tv). But IT HAS SPEAKERS. (Update 20210713 - I just finished a second Zoom meeting - and find that the speakers are perfectly adequate for this use - so I have deleted my less-than-complimentary comment about the speaker quality from this evaluation.)My Computer + monitor load on my UPS is around 51 watts (as in when I'm merely typing this review) - which indicates to me that the monitor is drawing around 20 watts -- which is the same as the 22" ViewSonic that it replaced. Now that I have this on my desk, it isn't as "huge" as I had expected -- meaning that I could entertain one as much as 5" greater diagonal than this one -- although this one has fit my need for readability (I've set it for 200% (Windows "Display" setting), else the type is too small for me to read, now that I've replaced an FHD display with a 4K display. This display hit my hot buttons ofModest priceSmall baseAnti-Reflection coating4K resolutionSpeakersHDMI and Display Port inputsISP (wide angle) display*****20210705

Nice monitor! came with defect, but eventually been replaced by Philips warranty
The monitor is great for light gaming (considering the fact that it has only 60hz screen) and its awesome for work with text or graphics. The problem with monitor appeared after several months of use. The vertical lines started to appear on the screen. First it was one line, then two then three...So basically i contacted Philips monitors support. Support was not so great to be honest as i had to call them from time to time to kick them to do something. Eventually then sent me replacement unit and so far so good the replacement model worked great with no problem. I returned the old one.So overall the model and unit is awesome if you are not a heavy gamer. If you are a heavy or pro gamer consider getting faster refresh rate monitor. But For me personally i use it for work and graphics stuff and light gaming. And i don't really notice a serious downsides of slow refresh rate. But of course its all about personal choices )I overall recommend this monitor as it has pretty bright screen and good color accuracy!Of course for professional artists or designers the requirements may be different, but for me as a person who works with text, light graphics stuff and regular gaming, this monitor is cool =)

Excellent monitor with some quirks
The monitor is awesome value for the money. Has a slim profile, VESA Mount, in built speakers, full 4K UHD resolution and a panel with good viewing angles. The stand is plastic but feels sturdy. Backlight bleed is there but very minimal. Speakers are not that great, but loud enough if you are watching a movie from 6-8 feet awayI used a direct usb type c to DisplayPort cable and results were good on a 2018 MBP. I did not try gaming, so I cannot comment on it’s gaming capabilities. However, I could never get the monitor to work 4K@60Hz over HDMI. It is achievable only on DisplayPort. Contacted Philips support and their inputs weren’t that helpful either. They asked me to just return the monitor if it did not work at full 4k@60 Hz.I am not sure if this limitation applies to all Philips monitors or just that I received a bad copy. Also, once during my usage, I noticed flickering on the monitor when using a dark background text editor. It healed by itself a few seconds later. But I did not expect it on a brand new monitor

very good for Photo and video editing!
This would have easily been a 5-star review had it not been for one single stuck pixel I got on my unit. For the price point, quality assurance will not be as good as 1000$+ monitors, meaning every other person might get a few dead or stuck pixels. Philips's pixel policy allows for a certain number of pixel defects. The colors are accurate and good enough for my hobby photography and video editing. I use this as an external monitor for my laptop and so far it has been a perfect companion. I am an occasional gamer and it has been good for my gaming; Although I would not classify this as a gaming monitor as the refresh rate is only 60Hz. I have also noticed moderate and sometimes heavy IPS glow, but this was something I expected before my purchase. The stand is a bit wobbly and shaky and I might consider replacing it with a VESA mount. The model that I got has volume control as opposed to brightness control buttons. Therefore, changing the brightness could be a bit annoying through the settings. On the flip side, the built-in speakers are a bit louder and better than I expected, I might actually hold off buying speakers as they are good enough for now. There is also an app on their website through which you could change the monitor settings. The app is a bit buggy but it is good enough. It would have been nice to see some USB ports on the monitor and also if it came with a better stand. But you can only ask for so much at this price. Now, after purchasing this monitor I came across some other similar specs and priced models from other manufacturers that offer USB ports and better stands, but let's name other brands :PWhile I wish there were no stuck pixels, I am still happy about my purchase.

Great Monitor
Very good monitor, still using it and very happy with it. Easy to switch between sources, has all kinds of modes that I don't use but you might.
