Great Additive!
If you’ve got a 10-16 D-MAX, you should already know the situation with the CP4 fuel pump. The diesel in the U.S. doesn’t have the lube in it like the old days due to emissions. The fuel is too dry and the pumps are “Grenading” on people. I use a lot of Hot Shot’s Secret products on my truck without any issues. I mix this with the HSS Everyday Diesel additive at every fill up. It’s a phenomenal product and well worth every penny you spend on it. If you have any questions, contact HSS website and it will get you where you need to be for an answer. I’ll keep using this until something better comes along. Until then, best of luck.T.H.

Superb!
My 2001 Silverado HD has a 100% stock 6.6L LB7 turbo diesel, manufactured before ULSD regulations were promulgated for the United States in year 2007. For years, my engine has had an idle lope, and which recently upon fill up at a Chevron-branded station became more pronounced and was accompanied with a steady blue smoke plume from the exhaust. I suspected that the fuel pressure regulator was not moving smoothly enough and causing the fuel rail pressure to bounce around outside of target values. Since ULSD does not have the lubrication properties of pre-ULSD fuel, I wanted to try a lubricity additive, beyond the Power Service Diesel Kleen I have used since day 1. So I bought a bottle of this Hot Shot's Secret LX4 Lubricity Extreme, and added 5 ounces to my 34 gallon fuel tank that was full. I allowed it to sit overnight, and ran the truck in park for 10 minutes the first day, then let it soak again overnight. I ran it again for 10 minutes the next day in park, and let it sit overnight. The third day I drove it. The surge was totally gone and replaced with a beautiful smooth steady idle, and the blue tailpipe smoke was also gone. The exhaust from the tailpipe is now totally invisible. It's my belief that the pre-2007 Duramax engines were not engineered for the lower lubricity of modern diesel fuel, and for me, this has product is a huge blessing. (I do think the major fuel manufacturers like Chevron are meeting formal lubricity standards, but not to the lubricity level that the Duramax design engineers had in mind in earlier years pre-2007). Unless something changes, I'll use it from now on in my Silverado. Terry Livingston, Mobile, AL

Perfect for my Ford Explorer 2013
I must say that I up keep my Explorer in everyway, oils changes on time religiously, coolant flush on time, all scheduled maintenance done on time, but I drive a lot of miles, 124 miles Monday through Friday, more when I have to pick up my daughter. So the wear and tear happens no matter the upkeep. Lately I've felt the car somewhat sluggish and I happen to fall upon this and read what it offers and decided to give it a shot based on the reviews. I must say that the difference was night and day, the car became more quiet, drove smoother, enhanced performance on the highway, it was a real noticeable difference. It just felt so much better when I put my foot on the pedal. Now with that said, I really didn't noticed better MPG, and maybe that was because I upkeep and baby this car. This was very simple to use, simply use 2 oz per fill up, you squeeze the bottle and it has a 1 ounce fill cup on the top of the bottle which is beyond helpful to make sure that you do not over use. I've driven over 2k miles since using this and I can assure you that it will not be a major part of my upkeep.

Seems great for an aged system especially
My fuel injectors are 22 years old, and have received a lot of tlc to keep them going strong over the years. The fuel pump is not quite as old but could definitely benefit from this. I had it go bad once and it was a nightmare pump to replace, and pricey. I’m hoping this stuff will provide some cheap insurance. I love the company, they make some great products. This is simply a solvent free high quality oil. Ethanol removes lubricity from your fuel so this is a great way to replace it. After running it through the fuel system for a few hours, I’m noticing the engine runs a bit smoother at a slightly higher rpm at idle. I was also getting a recurring lean engine code intermittently that hasn’t come back since I started using this stuff, fingers crossed.Update: definite improvement in gas mileage! Went from 17mpg to over 20

Great products
Hotshot secrets puts out great products and I have used just about every one so far. I use the LX4 product mostly in my VW jetta TDA as it has a CP4 high pressure pump that is known to go bad without proper lubrication in US diesel! Works great and havnt had any issues so far. Lasts a while when treated at recommended treatment levels!

Helps fuel pump
I use this to (hopefully) prolong the life of my Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel pump in my Superduty. Only have 28k so far but zero issues. 4 oz per tankful is what I use.

Independent testing shows this is best at minimizing high pressure pump wear.
Based on testing reported elsewhere, I'm relying on this to protect the CP4 injection pump in my 2016 Duramax engine. This product produced the least "wear scar" in testing. Of course, we won't know for a decade or more, but it seems like a reasonable investment compared to thousands to remediate damage from a failed pump.
