OMOTON Screen Protector

The media could not be loaded.  This is my first experience with a screen protector, and I wasn't sure what to expect for fit and was therefore a little disappointed. So, before rating this I checked with someone who has experience with using screen protectors and it turns out that my expectations were off. I'll explain below for anyone who's also new to using one. This is a great screen protector.1) The packaging was terrific. It protected the glass & included all the tools & instructions required.2) The tools & instructions were useful, and I was able to get a nice clean seal between protector & screen on my 1st try by following the directions and being very careful (especially with double-checking for dust before lowering the protector onto the screen). I had a few bubbles that I managed to rub away, as instructed. The guide stickers were absolutely critical to ensuring it set down properly centered.3) The protector formed a great seal to the screen - it's secure and I'm not concerned about it peeling up on its own.4) It's very thin, so that you can't tell there's another layer, and it's crystal clear. There was no change in how bright or colorful or responsive the screen is with this on.5) CON: It seems to me that the protector gets fingerprints just as much as the original screen did. Since it wasn't the reason I bought it (just a side benefit), I wasn't terribly disappointed, but I figure I should mention it.6) Fit: This was where I was a little disappointed, since I thought it would cover the whole glass piece on the face of the Tab, out to the rim. It's close, but it's about 1mm narrower & 2mm shorter than the Galaxy Tab S2 glass face. Also, there's a 1mm margin around the camera & the home button. So, now the look of the tablet isn't as clean & streamlined as it was without the protector. Moreover, that crevice between the edge of the screen protector & the bevel edge (especially with my clear TPU case on) is going to attract dirt & need more cleaning.But as I said, I had no idea what to expect of a screen protector, and I'm told that this is pretty normal and all it needs to do is cover the whole screen area over the display. So, I've rated this 5 stars. But I've included some pics for anyone who's also not sure what to expect. The 1st four are the corners without a case on. The last 2 show corners with the clear TPU case on.Hopefully this protector will perform as advertised if there's an impact. It's worth the insurance. It passed a 30 minute test for scratches today (see video).

This is an excellent screen protector. It arrives very well packaged in a case that protects it from flexing and damage during shipping, and has wet cleaning, dry cleaning, and dust pickup accessories included, as well as 'hinge' tapes included in the installation kit. The manufacturer has been very thorough in ensuring you get precisely what you need in order to do a proper installation.The installation is critical in that you must ensure that the holes for the front facing camera and the 'home' button are precisely centered over these elements on the tablet. This is where the 'hinge' tapes comes into play......center the cover properly over these elements (without removing the rear adhesive protector), perform your cleaning, check and double check the alignment including both the hole alignment and the alignment along the sides, install the hinge tapes and proceed.Cleaning of the surfaces is of paramount importance with any screen protector. Dirt, smudges, and most important, dust and hairs will become permanently 'stuck' under the protector if you do not. Take your time, and work in a low-dust, well lit area.Next, I need to remark on the manufacturer and their customer service department. I had a minor problem with my protector, and the manufacturer went to great lengths to ensure that I was pleased with the product. I've been a member of Amazon since 2004, and purchased many hundreds of items. Some manufacturers do not care if you have a problem, and you need to rely on Amazon's good graces to ensure correction. This is NOT the case with Omoton. They stand behind their product 100%, communicate with you promptly and professionally, and go to great lengths to ensure that you are happy. I only wish they made a tempered glass screen protector for my Galaxy 7 Edge.....I would purchase it from them in a moment. This is the company to deal with!

After my original review, the seller contacted me to remedy my initial experience. Working with them was easy and all through email. Installation was straightforward. I was very careful about getting the right alignment for the screen protector. I was also very careful putting on my military spec case, so as to not put undo pressure on the protector.It's a month in and the screen protector is still doing great. No cracks or scratches. There is a slight dampening of the tablets sensitivity to touch, but its a fair trade off for the protection gained.I have not dropped the tablet down the stairs, but I have dropped it from the counter to the floor at least twice. Protection is working and screen protector is still in good shape with no cracks. I am happy with the screen protector and especially with the customer service.Original Review:Installation was fairly straightforward, but a day after installing the screen cracked in half without me dropping it. Something about normal use with a hard case on I assume. It was still usable, and the crack wasn't that bothersome, so I kept it on. A few weeks later I dropped the tablet down our wooden front porch steps. It did its job in that my tablet screen did not crack, however the screen protector is now cracked in 3 more places. I've had other screen protectors that have lasted through worse drops, further and harder, and have cracked less. But it did protect my screen, so not a total waste of money.
