I recently picked up the OXO Outoor Rapid Brewer (like an Aeropress) for camping trips and have researched and shopped for a manual grinder for a long time but hadn't needed one till now. Since I was primarily looking for a grinder to use only while camping I didn't want to spend a ton, but still wanted some of the features, quality, durability and precision of a premium grinder. Based on comparison shopping, positive reviews, and value for features I decided to try the Timemore Chestnut C2 - and it was also on sale.Wow. I love this thing. The fit and finish is excellent and it's just so solidly built and beautifully designed. It is truly impressive. Grinding with the SS conical burr and well designed handle is so easy and smooth that I find it to be very satisfying and almost therapeutic. I easily found and set a grind size I'm happy with and have been using this grinder every morning since I bought it. The Chestnut C2 with the OXO Rapid Brewer makes a delicious concentrated cup of coffee which I quite enjoy as a latte. I'm looking forward to trying different grind settings on the Chestnut C2 for cold-brew and for pour-over coffee.I highly recommend the Timemore Chestnut C2 not only for the quality, features, value and performance, but also because of it's beautiful design and fit and finish. It's kind of weird but I look forward to using it every morning.

Love love love this grinder. At this cost, it is amazing! The settings are easily used for dialing in a shot. This is used several times a day and I have used it for 6 months without issue. Well made. Timemore for the win!

This is a beautiful piece of equipment. I have owned many hand grinders over the years and this is the best built, easiest to clean and surprisingly fast to grind. It takes me about 30 seconds of very little effort to grind an ounce of beans. I can grind enough beans for a full chemex in half the time it takes the water to boil. I purchased the version with a fixed handle and unless you plan to travel with it full of beans it actually packs smaller than the one with the folding handle. The ball bearings make this a pleasure to use. I highly recommend.

If you're using a spice grinder (cheap blade spinner with a lid) and are interested in better coffee, it is hard to beat the value of this grinder. I found this grinder off the recommendation of a coffee youtuber and have had it for almost 2 years. It has held up mostly well.The grinder is mostly metal with a few piece of plastic in non critical places. The metal components have held up while the plastic ones have not. The handle has a plastic shield to keep the beans in the grinder while grinding. Combine this with the fact that is relatively easy to slip the handle off the metal shaft if you're not playing attention and *boom* the plastic shield is broken due to a drop.There is also a plastic collar at the top of the grinder that keeps the spinning axle centered. It can slowly work itself loose as its only pressure fitted into the housing. Its simple enough to push it back in, but I have always wondered if it had an impact on the centering of the grind shaft/burr alignment.Cleaning for this grinder is... interesting. The company explicitly says the grinder should not be exposed to water. They provide a brush to wipe it down, but it would be nice if the grinder was build with components that could be washed.The grinder is relatively easy to use depending on how roasted your beans are. I use light roasts primarily and I remember a few times where my wife was surprised by the amount of torque required to turn the handle. It would be easier to use if the handle was a little longer.It has a wide range of stepped settings to change your grind size, though this product is not capable of a fine enough grind for espresso consistently.Even with the cons, this is one of the better manual grinders in this price bracket. It is perfect for travel and makes a great companion for any non-espresso coffee brewer (even a moka pot).

Can’t say enough about this workhorse compact grinder. Excellent buy. Use it everyday and take it camping with us. We love it and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another.
