There is also a small handbook giving guidance on how to produce your first painting. The set might appear a little expensive but in my judgment is reasoanble value for money. If you are referring to the paintings that are first painted in gesso, then you paint the painting first with gesso, white, black or gray. After gesso is dry you would then put your liquid base coat over it, in order to achieve the wet on wet technique.
