A fresh, fascinating take on the modern human condition
Scott Adams book is a tour de force in information and entertainment, after reading you will never look at politicians, businessmen or public figures the same again!Adams' level of detail when breaking down Trumps persuasion wins and Clinton's failures is both accessible yet deeply enlightening and his frequent use of personal blog excerpts remind us that this is an author whom has the experience and academic chops to go beyond mere punditry and pull back the curtain on what makes the consumeristic public warm to a brand.Win Bigly is well written and good humoured, I highly recommend it to anyone who has aspirations of becoming a better speaker or influencer.

Eye-opening & compelling
Eye-opening. It comes a surprise to learn that there's a method in Trump's madness, however unconscious it may be.I imagine it took a great deal of courage for Scott - a natural west-coast liberal - to acknowledge and then analyse and describe how Trump has achieved his unexpected ascent to the US Presidency.Scott's writing (and narrating) style reflects his insouciant and open-minded attitude to life - something that I think many of us can learn a thing or two from. It also marks him out as a master of his subject.

Persuasion Trumps Reason
Adams explains persuasion with regular reference back to one main case study: Donald Trump and the US presidential race. Personally I think this choice is a masterstroke. The race dominated the news for >12 months, the text explains the importance of many things you knew of and some you didn't. Virtually no-one gave Trump a chance. It was a result that shocked most of the world including everyone who was hitherto considered an expert in US politics. The book goes a long way to explaining why so many people were totally wrong about a matter they were very sure of. Most people are still bewildered by the result to this day, but not those who have read 'Win Bigly', Scott's blogs or watched his Periscope's.The techniques of persuasion described in the book are also deployed in the writing of it. Making the reader a target for persuasion, rather than a casual observer, this stimulates your thought process and reinforces the message. The reader is kind of an active part of the book's creation which is pretty meta.Whilst the material stuck to persuasion techniques, I loved it. I was totally into examples about Trump & the race. When he quotes his blogs and talks about Godzilla that was interesting too. What I found less interesting was toward the end it got deeper into describing Scott's personal story, the effects of being publicly identified as a Trump supporter, reasons for flip-flopping, endorsing each of Clinton/Johnson/Trump.But overall a great read that will help you interpret and understand the world around you.FWIW I'm from the UK. The ratings of this book are clearly very polarised between American voters identifying as Republicans & Democrats. I don't consistently identify with a particular political party. IMO you don't need to be American or even interested in politics to enjoy and find value in this.Would highly recommend - Win Bigly

Fantastic!
For someone who's been reading Scott Adams for years, this books is the pinnacle of his work. Insightful and funny, it's a truly behind the scenes look into how Scott played a big role (even if indirectly) in the Election. I was already familiar with some of the concepts, and I've followed Scott's blog on the Election almost from the beginning. It was magnificent to see. Highly recommended book if you want to "open the doors" of your perception.

This book should be banned for 90% of the population
For anyone “enlightened” enough to understand how politics “really” works, this book will be a massive disappointment. I predict that 90% of you have no idea how the world really works because as a moist robot, you are programmed on a daily basis. But for us few, us noble few who have seen behind the curtain, we must come together and ban this book immediately as it threatens humanity. No one should have this level of insight. I uttterly condemn this book, whilst at the same time heaping praise upon the author for writing it.

Good Not Great
I was looking forward to the book after becoming a regular reader of Scott Adams' blog since he predicted a Trump win. What you get, feels all too familiar. Much of the information is taken directly from his blog, or has been covered on the blog so I felt I was just re reading it.The persuasion tips are good and let you see the author's persuasion running through the book. But this made me wonder whether he was showing me Trump's persuasion or persuading me that Trump is a good persuader. If you haven't read the blog and can't understand why Trump won, then this book is worth reading and worthy of 4 stars. If you've read the blog, you won't find much new information here.

A first-class book - especially in audio
I liked everything about this book; it met the purpose for which I bought it. I have little spare time, so I purchased the audio version as well as the Kindle version. The audio version was brilliantly read by the author and I was able to give it the concentration it deserved by playing it on my iPhone at times when I was travelling, in a waiting room, and the like.Excellent, and thank you, Scott Adams, for writing it.

Biased but valid
Entertaining and informative. Not recommended if you dislike Trump though. Even though Scott began by predicting Trump's victory and persuasion skills, now he works to keep the president's image por favor a master persuasion. At this point Scott's view on Trump is biased, but it doesn't invalidate the principles he talks about in the book.

Brillante

One of the Most Important Books Today
This book details the dynamics of our reality that we were blind to for most of our lives. Most of our reality is based on the notion that 90% of people are rational and that we are rational decision makers. Operating in this worldview, we are prone to constantly be in cognitive dissonance and often find ourselves shaking our head and in the long-term fall into the lazy thinking of labeling everything as "it is what it is" which isn't bad at all. However, in order to be an active participant in the world in a way that you want to create impact, you have to understand how the world really works, that 90% of people are irrational and rationalize after something happens. Our reality is mainly psychological or in the realm of the imagination. Scott Adams explains this well by talking about Filters of Reality. It's the same thing as models of the universe, worldviews, perspectives whatever you want to call it. The key is that we all have certain movies playing in our head to interpret a given situation at all times. When we all have a matching movie, we experience the reality in similar ways. The media exists to become the narrators of our experience. They are the creators of Filters of reality most of the time, that is, until the internet has made it possible for independent research among the people. But even the internet is subject to censorship and most of us are still conditioned to think in ways that are part of the design of the creators of our Filters. This is where Win Bigly can help you break through the filters by becoming aware of your own filters that you have been using. Win Bigly is metaphorically and literally a key to unlock the prisons of our minds. It looks like a fun, enjoyable little book with a cute cartoon character on the book cover, but it is one of the most important books today if you are into breaking through the simulation. By understanding filters, you will understand why Trump won the election. The book provides many clues as to why Trump won the election. Understanding filters is key to begin your new life playing the 3D game and with practice and mastery onto the 4D and beyond. The 3D game is the very few of the population live. Those who are aware of the deeper dynamics of reality, that is they understand Hypnosis. Hypnosis is an interesting and important field that every truth seeking man should get into because it provides an alternative advantageous mindset. Scott Adams also provides book recommendations for further developing skill in hypnosis. You will learn to see the world in ways that will transform your life. Understanding the world in terms of hypnotic realities will set you up for becoming an influencer in your own ways by becoming more aware of the principles of the mind. You will think in terms of becoming a Causer instead of the Effects although we are both at all times. You will be able understand the Causers playbook and learn to play the game.

Why did Trump win? This is certainly an interesting take.
A fascinating perspective on why, in Scott Adams opinion, Trump was much more successful than almost anyone expected in the Presidential election. This was a very well written book, and covered a lot of the top persuasion literature out there today.Adams weaves together familiar themes from Cialdini’s Influence and Pre-suasion, findings of Behavioral Economics, books like Thinking Fast and Slow, Made to Stick and other top books on psychology and persuasion to argue Trump just had a better understanding of human nature than the other candidates. Concepts like anchors, cognitive dissonance, filters, imagination, pacing, and confirmation bias, are all discussed as persuasion tools, often using examples from Trump’s campaign.Of particular value, it will now be clear to you when these "Persuasion" techniques are being used on other issues, and you can be aware and call them out.

Potentissimo
