Our second one of these. They work great to leave a trickle charge on things parked outside in the cold months.

I have an Interstate 35 ah Deep Cycle Battery. I bought it coupled with this charger (saved $9.95-Yippee).After a few days I think I figured how the charger works with my battery. After connecting to charger, the yellow light comes on (Charging). The goal here is to get the Float Light (Green) to come on. Float means the battery is fully charged and the charger is keeping that way without overcharging.After about 8 hours I used a meter to check the voltage 14.35v. According to the owners manual it will Float Charge After it reaches 14.4 volts.I was at 14.35v so it won't be long now, Right. No wrong, after 16 hours no green light,no float charge, the voltage is 14.38, not much progress.Checked again at about 20 hours. Still 14.38 and no float. I am thinking something is wrong. I'm not to worried though, because the voltage is not increasing and the battery is a cool So i figure maybe its floating at 14.35. Wrong. At 24+ hours the Green light has finally come on and the voltage is at a comfortable13.38v.Checked again at 36 & 48 hours 13.38v. Beautiful.I think that as the charging voltage got higher the charging slowed down (eventually to a trickle).Faster is not always better. If I want to have the battery always available I will buy another Charger/battery package and have one always at the ready. The price is very reasonable.I conclude that this charger is perfect for me. The battery will spend a lot of time sitting in my garage between Trolling outings in my boat. This a very simple (to the eye) charger that will keep my battery as healthy as can be expected. Bravo Interstate.

Up until this point, all the chargers for this installation were wired directly into a 15 amp breaker. This unit requires a plug to install so there is that. Had I realized this a head of time, I would not have purchased this unit. I am completely to blame for I did not realize how shortsighted the engineers were on this design.

I TRIED BOTH CHARGERS AND THEY WOULD NEVER SHUT DOWN TO FLOAT. BOTH OVERCHARGED THE NEW BATTERY! I WILL ONLY BUY THESE FROM MY INTERSTATE DEALER!!!

Just set it and forget it, keeps battery at full charge and ready to go.

Basic battery tender. It has a long, heavy cord and no-nonsense status lights. Very well built.

Completely died after two months, don't buy one.
