I use these for hoof trimming. My longtime farrier stopped serving my geographic area and it's been difficult to find a good hoof care specialist for basic barefoot trims who will take a new client. The best I've been able to find is a guy who doesn't trim bars or heels much, even when passed vet notes on heels needing to come down or bruising from overgrown bars (leading to bad angles and bars that lay over and create bruising). I use these nippers to clean up bars between his visits. They work well in my small hands and have enough leverage and sharpness to make the task reasonably easy. Hopefully I'll find a good enough farrier in my area that I won't need them someday soon, but until then I'm happy to have a tool that helps with the necessary DIY hoof care to keep horses sound.

These bonsai tools are a good size and function well. They’re easy to use and come in a nice storage bag. While I’ve read some concerns about durability in other reviews, time will tell how well they hold up. Given the price of other bonsai tools, these offer good value—especially since I only plan to use them a few times a year and didn’t want to spend a fortune on a single-purpose tool. So far, so good!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good these pruners are. They fit well in my hand. They have a quality feel to them with appropriate weight - not a cheap feel at all. They are really sharp. The angled head makes pruning between branches easy. And I like the soft storage bag they come in. I would purchase again.

Bought this to help trim my horses hooves. It works really well to clean up the bars and frog! Super sharp and easy to use.
