Excellent ice cleats! I had purchased these same ones 3 years ago and they endured a lot of use. I realized that my cleats were worn down to the rubber and weren't really doing me much good. I ordered a new pair and wore them today for the 1st time, I walked down a slightly sloped area that was covered in thick ice and didn't lose my balance at all. Before I put the ice cleats on I just had my regular boots on and I was slipping and sliding all over the place trying to rake the snow off my roof edges. These cleats are well worth the money!!

I was staying with my folks and they have a large property. Of course they only want the dogs to poop at the very back... up a hill. I walk that hill several times a day. Obviously in the winter the ice gets pretty thick. I had used a pair of cleats they had but I did not like the fit so I ordered my own. These are AWESOME, but you have to add some additional connections yourself. What I loved was that they stretched nicely and made it over the big snow boots I use. All the other pairs I tried it was such a fight to get them to stretch enough to fit over the boot. They stretched on so nicely I didn't think I would need the straps. Nope--a few walks in they were slipping off. Ok so I added the straps that came with them. Those straps are SMALL. They would not work to connect the cleats over the shoe as they are meant to. I tried using them but they just popped off as I started walking because they were too overstretched to stick together well. So then it was time to get creative. I dug out some zip ties. And I zip tied the dang things to my boots. Took me a few walks before I had enough zip ties in the right places, but now they're perfect. A little annoying with the zip ties, but hey they work for the ice and mud so they don;t have to look pretty. PROS: They are able to go onto a boot pretty easily which was a welcome change. The cleats are the best I have tried. I used to have some with "coils" as the cleats and those did not work. These are amazing. I was able to walk uphill on the solid ice no worries at all. AND I was able to walk DOWNHILL on solid ice with no problems! This is a huge relief. Other cleats have not been so sturdy CONS: Obviously the straps. If you have a small child-size boot they might work as they are supposed to. If you are an adult don't even bother with them. Grab some zip ties and you're good to go. I only took off one star for the straps even though that is a pretty major feature. I loved the grips so much I won't take off more than 1 star.

I tried another brand first but they were difficult to put on the bottom of my boots. These ones stretch nicely and there is a Velcro toe strap for additional security so the cleats do not fall off. The cleats themselves are metal and they really grip the awful ice we have had this January in New England.

I storm for the first time this year upstate New York, were these while walking my dog, excellent traction, no doubt I would’ve slipped without these. I highly recommend them. They stretch over your boots or shoes and are very snug insecure. Don’t use them and walk on your hardwood floors or linoleum as they will bar the surface but for outside they’re great and you can even use them on pavement until you get to the ice.

I fixed your VERY POOR DESIGN for the velcro strap by cutting and stitching it. All I have to do is insert each side, slip it through the ring and bring it back over the top. I also reinforced the slots on each side with black duct tape. They should last longer now and be easier to use. Other than that, they work really well on ice.

These cleats fit my hiking boots perfectly! They grip the ice with no slipping. They don't come loose or slip off.
