Bosch Automotive Electrics and Automotive Electronics: Systems and Components, Networking and Hybrid Drive (Bosch Professional Automotive Information)

I'd have given this book 5 stars if this book had all its content coincident with automotive technologies of 2016 and beyond. This is a great read as a quick reference. Very well written. Only caveat is that some of the content its based on technology that was in the years 2005 or 2006. This may or may not be super relevant if you are reading in 2017 or later as there have been some breakthrough developments in the automotive technology ever since. Furthermore, the book is more of a combination of multiple whitepapers or research publications created by Bosch engineers. Therefore, one must read this book as Bosch's version of automotive technology.

With only a year in the automotive industry I have found this book to be an excellent primer. I have 10 years of avionics experience, and 11 years of train control experience - I am not new to electrical and electronic engineering. This book has helped me appreciate the state of the industry and to increase my ability to contribute. Bosch should be commended.

This book is authored in German translated into British-English and a little long-winded in some respects but is essential reading for those who need to understand automotive electrical systems. I recommend this over the typical dumbed-down tech level writing that really teaches nothing but quick fixes in the trade.

Another great automotive book from Bosch

It's very good book, but out of date. The 5th edition was originally published by John Wiley & Sons 2007, and now it's reprint by Springer Vieweg in 2013. It's misleading in Amazon's description. I still need find a later reference.

Looking for something that described CAN bus and associated technologies that didn’t just theorise but gave specific details of hardware and the development of these products and their applications, I found this book very informative.

Very useful reference book on modern auto electronic systems and design criteria. If to be read end to end, would take many hours. For everyday reference, ideal.

This book brings me new information about automotive networking, moern sensor and actuator types in the vehicle.
