Pill Cutter for Small Pills, Tablet Splitter with Blade Guard, Safety Medicine Slicer, Medication Vitamin Divider Cutting Drugs

I read reviews and I am sometimes pushed into things I'm not sure of because of others reviews. I had to have a pill cutter, like yesterday. My dog was pit on a medication that is heavy coated and has no break line, but his prescription is for half. No way to get it cut in half with a knife. I am only familiar with these things because my mother used to have to cut a tiny pill in half every day. I figured there wouldn't ever be one as good as the one she had from 30 years ago. The reviews for this one were not really good, but I needed it fast and it would be delivered the next day. My review, and I have used it many times, is, its GREAT! I see no issue with the blade and these coated pills are hard. The hinging seems to be better than that of the old one my mother had. No sloppiness of a slight wiggling when pressing the cutter down. Seems very stable and strong. I also like that it has the small tray, or as I use it, storage area where the cutter top closes down and stays like its own pill compartment. Now, throwing it in your purse or suitcase it might open, as it doesn't close and lock, but its stiff enough to stay closed if you flip it over on the counter, and that's where I keep this. (So I can throw away the little paper envelopes that the vet gives Guido his meds in! You know, get rid of some clutter!)

My cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroid and needed to take half of a tiny cat sized pill twice a day. Trying to split it myself I was crushing it and estimating half and losing the rest. The pill is so small its impossible to break by hand and hard to grip to cut with a knife, i was highly frustrated wondering how i was going to make this work for the rest of my cats life. My husband said go on Amazon and find a pill cutter, duh I should have thought of that before throwing tantrums at how hard these were to cut. This device splits it with minimal crushing so I get both doses from the pill. The halves aren't perfectly even but that could be me doing it too fast. This is definitely more convenient, easier and less infuriating than trying to split pills yourself, no more tantrums! Plus I've dropped it a ton of times (I have butter fingers in the morning) and it hasn't broken yet, it just keeps on splitting.

I’ve tried just about every splitter on the market and this is the absolute best! You can actually see the pill every step of the way as you cut it. However two salient points :1. Always cut with the hinge in the upright position! If you point the hinge down the pill can fall out! For allot o of medication this doesn’t matter, but if you are splitting narcotics, it can mean losing an entire dose.2. Only order the standard gray splitter. I tried the brown one and it didn’t completely split the pill which was a disaster!

It's easy to use and as long as you have the pill positioned right it cuts it in half right. But also a lot of the time can not do that either cause I had to get this for my anti seizure meds since they changed how they wrote them and I feel like it didn't cut them in half properly sometimes and I got more headaches or dizziness more often when I got the improper dose. But it still works. Still sufficient.

Splits pills adequately, but the design is not conducive to the efficient splitting of large quantities of pills. The internal sliding structures trap pills or send them flying when you open. OK for a few pills at a time but if you want to split a 90 day supply, it rapidly becomes annoying!

This cutter is great. It's cheap, but it's sturdy as hell. The place where you put the pill prior to cutting is angled downward, which helps hold it in while cutting. The blade is sharp and cuts cleanly. The pill container area is large.My only complaint is that it only cuts one pill at a time, but that's completely acceptable given how accurate and easy to use this thing is.I've tried like 4 cutters off Amazon, including relatively expensive ones ($25+) that are supposed to be fancy/premium. They all pale in comparison to this simple one--enough for me to write a review for an $8 product.
