Star Ward Electronic Battleship
The direction to get started were very hard for a 9 year old & 8 year old to follow. It took over an hour to be able to understand how to play the game but once we figured it out they couldn't stop playing with it.My Grandson's love it and except for the directions not being clear I would recommend it to anyone.

I've been waiting for this
I've been waiting to get this Star Wars version of Battleship for 8 years. I couldn't find it locally in my neck of the woods, but I found it here on Amazon.com. Now I've got it. All the game pieces were sealed in their bags. This game is a MUST for Star Wars fans.

My grandson loves it. He is 9 and a big Star Wars fan. He already had the original Battleship talking game. He is blind and enjoys the sounds and descriptive audio.

What a pain!
Absolutely terrible. I can understand that the game doesn't know where the ships got put automatically - that takes some additional electronics to achieve. But would it have killed them to put in a bunch of cheap 2-color LEDs, to keep track of when you hit and when you missed? Would it have been so hard to make the voice clear and understandable? Why can't you press any buttons until the voice stops speaking each prompt - which slows the game to a crawl as you sit there, waiting for it to finish saying the same stock phrases, over and over? Who playtested this thing, anyway? Also, ships are poorly constructed - they sit on little stands and they fall off the stands easily - and you have to take them off the stands to pack the game up, so glue isn't an option.Basically, this is 1.25$ worth of badly engineered electronics in a $49 plastic box, made frustrating to play. NOT a good deal.

I was disappointed
For the money this game should be more "electronic" (as it is advertised), and less dependant on manual entries. It takes an agonizing long time to set up the board since each piece's location must be manually entered by each player. This takes so long that none of us are anxious to start a new game. I thought the game would automatically do this. I would not buy it again.

Too much time and money to waste!!!!
I bought this game for my 6 year old, and was very sorry I spent sooo much money on it! When I buy an electronic version of an established game or toy, I expect it to do some of the work for me. Is that asking too much? But in Star Wars Battleship, the two players have to punch buttons to enter each ship on their side. It takes a looonnnngggg time to set up the game before you can every play. Even in the "Classic" game mode. Then, you just spend your whole time entering coordinates. It takes much longer than the old basic Battleship to play. The only thing that is fun about this version is the voices and the hits thatyou make.My son could do this game after some coaching on how to enter coordinates, but the players still have to keep track of their hits and misses with little red and white pegs. The game does none of the work and tedious stuff for you! The only electronic part of the game are the voices and sound effects. I suppose you could play this game a lot faster by just not turning it on and playing it like the classic board game.If you are a die-hard Star Wars fan, you will buy this game no matter what I say. In my opinion, though, it is just not worth the money. Especially when a parent sees how much work and hassle the whole game is. We've had more fun over the holidays playing with the basic board game "Trouble" that cost $10.I would return the game if I could, but the stickers are in place, and the baggies are emptied. Tough luck for me, but maybe I can help someone else avoid the high sticker price, and the hassle.
