Transformation of the Psyche: The Symbolic Alchemy of the Splendor Solis

The content of this book is invaluable. However, its black-and-white illustrations were a disappointment. The discription on Amazon does not mention that the illustrations differ from the original.

For me it`s very dissapointing that all pictures are just black`n`white not colorful which can`t represent visiones of alchemists themselves to see world through theirs eyes which is more important than any explanation.

Had to return this book. I had seen a presentation on this book and the illustrations were beautifully in color -- which is why I purchased the book. However, this version of the book (paperback) only has black and white illustrations -- and they are barely legible. I am going to inquire to see if the hardback has colored illustrations.

This is an excellent book and interpretation of the symbolic alchemy of the Splendor Solis pictures and text as it deals with the psychology of individuation and alchemy. I am a lay person who has experienced the dream symbolism of alchemy for the last twenty-five years and always looking for books to help explain the experience. Joseph Henderson's book was very helpful and understandable, especially for a lay person, and I am very grateful for his insights into the alchemy transformation process.
