In college, I used it as a theme for one of my papers and after I began to teach, I used it when portraying women literary characters. When I first heard Platten's "Fight Song," I thought, this has got to be a great song. The more that I heard it, the more I saw its possibilities. I looked up the lyrics and realized that I had a new theme for portraying women who overcome and for my life as I transition to the next challenge. My CD arrived--although the case was broken--and I put it into my Bose and enjoyed it as I cleaned house. I played it over and over until I was able to sing along with it--I know that disappointed my neighbors! Then, I put it in my car for my trip the next day. I have found a new theme song!
