Excellent for Restoring a Damaged Wood Edge – Strong, Easy, and Seamless
I used KwikWood to repair a large chip on the rim of my Dhol (Indian double-headed drum). The edge had lost a chunk of wood that was affecting both appearance and sound.Ease of Use:The putty is simple to work with—cut off what you need, knead it until the color is uniform, and press it into place. It has a workable time of a few minutes before it begins to harden, so you can shape it to match the contour of the rim.Performance:Once cured (about an hour), it was rock solid and bonded perfectly to the wood. It didn’t shrink or crack, even after tightening the drum lugs. The repaired section feels just as strong as the original wood.Finish Quality:The tan color blended well enough for my instrument’s finish, and it sands easily for a smooth, flush edge. I was able to stain it slightly to better match the drum’s tone.Durability:After multiple playing sessions, the repair is holding perfectly—no signs of loosening or wear. The rim now looks and feels intact, and the drum’s resonance is back to normal.Bottom Line:Whether it’s for furniture, instruments, or general woodworking, KwikWood delivers a professional-quality repair with minimal fuss. Highly recommended if you need a quick, strong, and shapeable wood fix.

perrety good.
I used this product to repair a broken screw hole in my door frame where the lock attaches. The hole was too damaged to fix with regular methods, but this product worked perfectly. It was easy to apply, and the repair turned out solid and stable.

Great stuff for small and medium wood repairs that require gap filling
This stuff's pretty great. I've used it to fill a deep valley in a cracked piece of wood that's part of the base for a recliner, where I wanted extra strength, and to fill some moderate gouges and knocked-off corners in the particle board top panels of a used Workmate 550 portable workbench I got from Facebook Marketplace. This stuff is easy to mix (cut off a hunk from the roll and knead it for a minute or so), is easy to mold into shape using fingers and a plastic razor blade, cures in a couple of hours, and creates a hard, sandable structure. I also discovered that wood filler sticks well to it. It's a light tan, so it will most likely need some paint or other coloring to match the repaired piece. Highly recommended for your tool kit.

Works well, not stainable with oil or gel wood stain
I had to repair a loose Japanese Wa knife handle that I epoxied back in place.Whoever made the handle put a round hole in the handle where the blade fits and I used this JB wood epoxy to fill the voids around the knife blade.Mixing is easy (wear nitrile or latex gloves), it gets very hard when totally set up, it has a putty like consistency that is fairly thick. It is very light colored, like unfinished white pine.I tried mixing this product with several types of stain including oil base and gel wood stains and they would not mix with this epoxy putty.I filled the voids and let them dry and tried the wood stain again and it would not work. This epoxy has zero porosity for oil or gel stain. In my shop, I had a small vial of black epoxy color that I applied with a small artists brush to the light colored epoxy and that worked pretty well. This wood epoxy is 5 stars if you are applying paint over it but staining without epoxy specific was not possible for me.

Great product, does have a 2 year lifespan in the tube.
This product works great and functions as promised. However, you must make sure you thoroughly mix the two components, AND, the product isn't over 2 years old. If it's been sitting on your shelf for 3 or 4 years, even if unopened, it will have degraded to the point it will not harden. Otherwise, great product. This is an actual epoxy, not a wood filler. I used it to repair the threads on a wood threaded hole and it machined well and held as well or better than the original wood.

Good Product
Works really well. It hardens fairly fast and you can drill into it. It looks lighter than you think once it hardens.

So Easy!
After watching a youtube video that used this product I ordered it and tried it out right away. I had a great result which doesn't happen often enough in my experience as a DIY home repairer!

Didn't work for me....
I got this because it was recommended as a solution for stripped screw holes in wood. I have a wood garage door which has stripped holes behind a reinforcing bar that spans its width. Rather than look into a new door, I've twice sought to repair the stripped holes. My first repair involved slightly larger screws and more screws than originally installed in the door, but that repair didn't work. The larger screws stripped again and the additional screws weren't placed in solid wood, and thus stripped quickly. For my second repair attempt I decided to try to repair the original holes with this epoxy putty. I mixed it well and placed it in the holes, but it never seemed to truly harden. I finally placed the screws into the epoxy assuming that they would harden in place. But one week later the screws are stripped again. I don't know why, but the epoxy didn't help at all.I'm not sure this epoxy is really an effective solution for stripped screw holes.
