Review: If you like Lego and Stars Wars it's hard to go wrong with this purchase. - my 6.5 year old really wanted this as a prize for a goal we set for him. It was much more than we wanted to pay, but when he agreed to chip in half with his hard earned savings we gave in and purchased it. He was able to do more than 90% himself. He made errors here and there and I watch over as he built it to correct the errors. This ship is quite complicated and one small piece out of place is the difference between all of the top panels lining up and being able to close and a lot of frustration. It took my son about one week to complete, working on it a few hours a night after camp this summer. In the end it's really a beautiful ship. I was quite surprised how much I personally liked it once it was done. From the pictures I viewed online it looked a bit shoddy, but once complete the beauty shines through. It's really about the little details including the holo chess board, all the little compartments and the mess of parts toward the back of the ship, which is what you expect on the Millennium Falcon. The many mini figures, big deck, and number of compartments and moving parts make for lots of fun for someone with a good imagination. Some negatives I would say are that my son really wants to pick it up and fly it, but it's really awkward to hold and if this thing falls on the floor it's going to be a mess and a very sad day. I'd say it's pretty much for playing with on a table. The cockpit window was really tough for us to put on. I haven't had a chance to look closely to see if we have a part out of place since it was the last piece to attach and my son wanted to play immediately. He really won't be able to take the cockpit cover off and on for play. This may just be a mistake in building on our part. Anyway, it's minor and at this point he could care less. Also, the landing gear is quite short so you don't have good access to the bottom of the ship. It's hard to play with the gun turret on the bottom or have a mini figure really enter the through the lower latch. On the other hand I can imagine that the ship would look worse and be more unstable with longer landing gear, so I guess this is a compromise and Lego probably took the right route. It's hard to see someone who likes Lego and Star Wars not loving this set. It takes a long time to build, so it's very fulfilling when it's complete. It's very detailed with lots of moving parts and lots of cool mini figures so it's fun to play with and it really has a lot of details so it looks good just as a display.
Review: Just as advertised; arrived on time; great price! - My grandson really enjoyed putting this together! Looks great!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it a fast ship?**
A: "Fast ship?" You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon?

**Q: so you think a 17 year old boy that likes star wars and legos would like this?**
A: My grandson will be 8 this week and he loved the experience. He put it together with hos father and his older sister helped a bit. If the 17 year old is into both star wars and Lego they make a larger version, more expensive, that may be a better choice.

**Q: Do you think a 6 years old could build it? My son is good at lego and would absolutely love it, but Im not sure whether or not he is too young...**
A: If he is good at building Legos, he will be just fine. My son is 8 years old and very maticulous about his Lego building. It took him about 5 days building it by himself, working on it for about 45-60 min each day, but completed it alone. It has a lot of pieces!

**Q: Does the top open up in little sections or is it solid acrpss the top?**
A: It does open , just like the older model 7965

The good: -Very detailed -Long build -Great minifigs The not so good: -Very little detailing on the bottom of the ship -Tight squeeze inside the cockpit -Lots of stickers The Good This Lego Millennium Falcon was released to coincide with the release of the new film. It was basically a rehash of another Lego Millennium Falcon that was released several years ago. I don't know what changes they made since I do not own that set (other than different minifigs of course and the newly designed communications dish). I did own the first Lego Millenium Falcon from the late '90s and this is a HUGE step up from that one. The build itself took a long time. Which is what I want in a huge set like this. It's no fun if you complete the build quickly. I haven't built a set this big in over 10 years and Lego has made their sets more intricate than they use to. The pieces are divided up into about 15 smaller bags that are numbered and you are suppose to open each bag as the directions direct you to. I like to savor the build by opening all the bags and mixing them all up. If you don't like sitting on the floor to build these then you should probably eat on the couch for a few days and build on the dining room table. Take your time and pay attention to detail. There are some pieces that are a dark charcoal gray and there are some that are silvery metallic and they are both small pieces that look like radiator vents. It's not a big deal if you mix them up but if you want to stay true to the directions pay close attention. These pieces are almost indistinguishable in the instructions and you really have to look closely to know which ones to use. The ship is built in sections due to its size and also due to the size you will have to pay attention to the placement of the parts. The minifigs are very detailed compared to the original Star Wars yellow-skinned figures from back in the day. The main hull of the ship is also very detailed and includes a cargo section, engine room, Dejarik table, smuggling compartments, and more. The Not So Good: There are a lot of stickers. It almost takes a master Lego builder to get them to sit straight on the pieces. Take your time putting them on. The best way I have found is to line up one edge and then slowly roll the rest of the sticker down. Once it is seated all the way it is not easy to remove without damaging it. If you fiddle with it too much it starts wearing down the corners turning them white. Most of mine turned out okay because I took my time. If you are a kid you might want help from a parent. Another negative aspect is the cockpit is kind of small. If you want two minifigs in the cockpit you will have to stagger them so they aren't side by side. If you want Han, Chewbacca, Rey, and Finn all in the cockpit good luck. I think there's a kid on YouTube who came up with a modification to make them fit better. If you have the spare parts check it out. The ship is overall very detailed except for the ventral section. Most of it is made of flat panels and the landing gear are sturdy but look cheesy. There is a turret that turns and the loading ramp does flip down (with little headroom). The whole ventral side has a squareness to it when it should have a more saucer shape to it. This doesn't effect playability too much although retractable landing gear would have been nice if I planned on flying it around the house. Overall this ship is great for an intermediate builder who likes Star Wars or space ships. It doesn't have quite the detailing of the ultimate collectors edition but it is a great build nonetheless. Happy building!
