This is my first time to purchase and work withbsoft pastels. I am loving tbis set. Good economical choice for a beginner or seasoned artist

The media could not be loaded. These are so easy and fun to use! They are so smooth and shed of when you cut them like butter! I use the shavings powder to color polymer clay, and it works like a charm! They are a pretty generous, thick piece of pigment. Also, it's pretty inexpensive for the amount you get. They aren't easily breakable, but if you apply some force they might snap. The colors are gorgeous and come out to vivid! I am not sure if this is same to use to color cosmetics with, but i am again not sure. These are a real pleasure to work with!

I used Mont Marte (MM) soft pastels to test on pictures beside Mungyo (M). I used my regular sketchpad paper/ no grit.Pros:-Mungyo is true to color; the shades and color applications are quite literally what they look like. Reds don't turn pink after blending.-Variety of colors are nice! And, the extra longer black is VERY pigmented-Price point is greatCons:-The size... it's a lot harder to work with. Better for detail not full picture.-It crumbles! Even for a pastel, it crumbles a lot.-Some shades after blending, the color can get lost (recommend using finger to blend).--package arrival condition: two of my colors were broken and the inside was quite dusty. However, it is soft pastels and I easily wiped off excess dust.All in all, I would still recommend for the price and unique shades.

I bought this set along with the 72 Faber Castel to see which one is like and honestly I love both. I do feel that the FC is just a tiny bit better at blending, but it's so subtle it's hardly noticeable. One thing I found is that the Mungyo has a few colors that are not found in the FC set although I'm not sure if the color difference comes out in the photo, it is noticeable in person. I think it's good to have many different pastels in different tones and both of these sets are perfect together. Both sets came out to about thirty three total and for 136 pastels that not a bad deal so they are both affordable, especially if you wait for a sale. The FC half pastels are slightly longer that the Mungyo minis but only about 1/3 of an inch. I'm keeping both of them. I also think the packaging has been updated to prevent the problem in other reviews. A plastic insert has been added and I had no issues with mine arriving a hot mess. Please excuse my terrible sample art, it's my first time with pastels, lol! I don't know how it would work if I use more of the pastels on the paper by adding more pressure since even though they are inexpensive, I don't want to waste mine like I've seen established artists do, so on the sample I used the least amount of pressure I could.

Great colors, smooth to use. I like these better than my more expensive Faber Castel. Blend very well.

Good variety of colors. Packaged nicely. Half sticks are very small. Some arrived a little dirty, but it’s to be expected with pastels which can be a bit dusty. Some of the colors are softer and more “buttery” than others.

These colors are beautiful, they are a medium soft, with a great edge. It's a half pastel so nice size and the price is unbeatable!
