**Q: Can this be used to "tin" copper tape on pcbs? i'm repairing a gameboy color a/b buttons and have used copper tape to restore the gold contacts. will**
A: Yes, this is exactly what it is for.  Normally the PC board is bare; no components on it yet.  The copper is very lightly sanded with a very fine grit sandpaper so it is nice and shiny; this helps the Liquid Tin to bond to the copper.  Then clean the dust off real good, and follow that with ISO.  Once dry It is placed in a bath of Liquid Tin for several minutes.  In your case, you have components installed and the copper surface is most likely oxidized.  You’ll need to get the oxidation off till the copper trace(s) are shiny, then dust off; followed by cleaning with ISO.  Then maybe use a Q-tip to apply the Liquid Tin just where you want it.  Let it sit there for at least 5 to 10 minutes before washing off with distilled water.  You should end up with a nice solderable surface.  You *could* skip the Liquid Tin steps and just solder to the cleaned and shiny copper contacts but using LT will end up a better repair.
