The Golfing Machine Hardcover – January 1, 1982

This is one challenging book to read! However, it is a great book, as long as you are patient with yourself.After a few weeks of jumping from one chapter to another (almost randomly), I have been able to find a groove and the book is beginning to make sense. I still jump from chapter to chapter, but more "logically."The photos with the swing plane pane are especially helpful. Even if the author seems to like a few items more than others, the book clearly lets you decide how to become a "golfing Dr. Frankenstein" by creating your own swing as long as you combine each component correctly. (Some parts/components do not fit all swings.)Humor: I wonder if the model ever became a great golfer...One more - If you are curious, visit a website with the same name and look for their videos. The video in which they are selling a laser guide is particularly good..., if you are having difficulty understanding some of the book's component. I call it The Infinite Target Line.

This is definitely not a book for the casual reader. There are gold nuggets here but it takes considerable digging to unearth them. There is much valuable information and insight but it is not organized in a coherent fashion. I have hesitated to say the book is not organized, for it probably has an excess of organization. Unfortunately while there ample cross references and a wealth of information, there is no hierarchy that ties all the information together. Be prepared for a tough slog to put it all together.

For an older book it’s in great shape, shipped with care and speed. So grateful. As for the content there is nothing like this book. Dense and complex to follow at times but to be thorough no way around it. It’s not like the author made the rules of the golf swing he’s just here to provide a deeper understanding

Excellent book of information. If you are familiar with gov’t manuals that reference multiple sites then you will find the read a bit easier than most.

This book is good, but it is highly technical and a bit difficult to follow to the average reader.

Technical but highly informative

Interesting. It provides a very different perspective to the methods people use to hit the golf ball. It makes more sense the second time through.

The english grammer is very poor. The contents of the book are not in a logical order. The method of writing and references given are probably understood only by the author. The author has introduced a whole new golf language that is relevant to the author but not many other people.The author used most of his adult life in researching and writing this book, so it is not easy for me to be so negative, but he has completely failed to make this huge task attractive to most people.I am sure there are some good nuggets of information within its pages, but the reader has switched off early in the book due to the incredible complexity of the text.
