These socks are amazing. Super warm and they don't smell
These socks are amazing. Super warm and they don't smell. I just wish they lasted. Had them since November and 2.5 months later they have holes in both heels (see photo). I hand washed them once with the included soap and followed instructions to drip dry. Two and a half months is not long enough, so one star for each month. I was happy to shell out for socks the seller says can last a lifetime, but winter's not even over! :(.

Heel blew out nine months after purchase, and after 3 ½ months of actual wear
The weave of the socks is quite tight, not as much give as other ragg wool socks I've owned. Tough to get on at first after a washing, but then they would basically stretch to fit my foot. This was my only complaint for the first 9 months I owned them, about 3 ½ of which I actually wore them. Today it was chilly and I put them on for the first time since March. After wearing them for the day, imagine my surprise when I took my boots off and found the heel completely gone from the sock. I am attaching a photo because it's hard to describe in words what happened. In the morning, both socks looked like the sock on the right of the photo, and by the evening, it looked like a bomb had ripped through the heel of the left sock. I've never seen anything like it. Comparable wool socks I've owned have cost a quarter to a third what these ones cost, and lasted about 20 times as long. You can reach your own conclusions.

Very good 100% wool socks
Before I begin, I want to point out that these 100% wool socks are two ply. The title and description does not mention this. I know this because the seller has a dedicated website where other wool products are sold. Just query Sweater Chalet with your favorite search engine and you'll find these wool socks, along with care instructions.I bought these wool socks for my winter bicycling. I first worn them in 25-28 degree Fahrenheit weather with about 8-10 mph wind, riding for 30 minutes. It kept my feet warm overall, but my toes did get really cold. Granted I didn't wear winter shoes or boots, just some semi-insulated sneaker. In addition the socks did not feel itchy, except when my feet began sweating. The following day it got colder, 20 degrees Fahrenheit with 10-15 mph wind, so I wore a 100% cotton dress sock as a liner underneath the wool socks. Same effect with the same sneakers. My toes became cold, but still kept my feet warm overall. I'll try it out again but with better insulated sneakers/boots and report back my experience. Finally these socks are somewhat thick, so they have a very snug fit in shoes/sneakers. Probably more so with boots. You will have to loosen the laces to allow your feet to comfortably fit.

Only size 14 wool socks I've found!
Very good quality. I have been searching for months for heavy duty "100%" wool socks for my husband. We live in a zone 3 so our winters are rough. Only socks I've found in his size so far, they are hard to get on so we're hoping they won't slide down like hand knit socks. If they seve us well we'll be back for another pair! The sellers sent the order fast and when it came it was very nicely presented complete with a thank you card. Top notch!

best sleeping socks ever!
i bought these to use for sleeping, and have been using them for that since christmas (2015).these socks have surpassed my expectations. they're soft and warm but not too warm if that make sense.i had frostbite a number of years ago and can't stand having my feet uncovered or pressure on any part of them while i sleep. i bought these socks in size 13 for that reason, i usually wear size 11.5. i keep them under my pillow and slip them on right before bed and take them off when i get up in the morning.i can tell they'd be great for keeping your feet warm in boots when it's well below zero (fahrenheit). they'll stay up just because they're so thick. and feel great all day.protip: don't lace your boots tight in the cold. i know from experience.the only con i can think of is that brand new they're a little tough to get on the first time, getting past your heel will be a tight fit. buy them like i did one size to 1.5x the size you really are.the only improvement i can think of would be to have a soft leather patch added to the soles so i can feel ok about walking around the house with them on in the mornings. but i might not ever take them off if they had that. :)i'm probably going to buy a couple more pairs of these in the near future.[Update: 10 Oct. 2017]i've had these socks for a long while now and i still love them :)these are the best socks i have ever bought and i'm ordering a few more to share with family.

GREAT PRODUCT AND SELLER - be aware of sizing though
The SELLER (Sweater Chalet) has EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE - would try anything to satisfy me - one cannot ask for a better run, more ethical business than this. I certainly would BUY from them AGAIN in a heartbeat, in fact I think I will buy one of their Dachstein caps! ... A bit of caution in the sock sizing, I feel they are cut very large. For example I'm a size men's 8 1/2 and the size that ultimately fit me was their # 36, after trying the sizes recommended here. Also, they are very think so they will probably not be wearable with your normal fitting shoe.

Love the amount of care from seller!
I never leave review so you know that these socks are GREAT! First off, the bag the socks come in we're covered in cute stickers, I opened the bag and there was a hand written postcard from the seller that told right were the socks were made! I love that they had a personal touch!! The socks are awesome and super warm! Definitely worth the money!!!
