The Art of Flipping Art: Buying & Selling Art For Huge Profits (Making Money From Home For The Reselling Entrepreneur)

Very small book with triple spacing
First thing to know about this book is that it's very small, about 50 pages. It also has huge spaces between the paragraphs. Some pages have only 1 small picture, 1 sentence and that's it. The book may be an alright primer on the subject but I think a handful of youtube videos would be better and more worth your time. Basically the author is trying to expand his flipping Hussle to include easy money from Amazon book sales. There is nothing wrong with that other then his book is not very good.

Piece of useless trash....don’t waste your money!
This book is the biggest piece of trash that I have ever ordered from Amazon, and I suggest you run very very very far away from this useless book. I can surmise this whole book for you in less than a sentence… Do your research, Google it, look online....that is the whole theme of this book. I wish I could give this book negative stars, but Amazon won’t let me do that, so I’m giving this one star which it doesn’t even deserve

The Art of Flipping: It‘s not just for houses anymore!
So if you think real estate is the only thing that can be bought low and sold high, think again. This author has something to tell you with regard to the art market, yes, even today’s art market during economic “recovery”.With this guide you can save yourself costly mistakes –one of which the author learned and is presenting the short version of it for you as well to learn from. You have to be very shrewd when you go into this endeavor and use the same judiciousness you would in dealings with antiques, collectibles, vintage cars, and the like. If you are a veteran EBay seller, you will literally have a gold mine on your hands once you master the finer points of art reselling.Possible hunting grounds for art pieces? Places like estate sales, auctions, garage sales, and yes, even thrift stores…as they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. If you have successfully resold antiques and memorabilia, you can do this, and perhaps net some hefty profits when the time is right.Among many points of value you will learn how to spot the authentic big name works of art from the knockoffs, how to tell if a work is genuine and not just a print (apparently there are a lot of clever con artists out there, no pun intended) Best of all, how to stand your ground when you know a piece is worth something big, and not easily get low-balled.A great guide for astute pickers out there in search of more ideas for big-ticket items, and how not to get bamboozled easily in the process; plus there is a fairly good appendix of helpful website resources too!

Good starter for flipping art
I wanted to learn how to flip art, or at least read some books on how to do that. After considering art and other hobbies, I've determined not to pursue this, but I wanted to leave a review since this is a well written book written by someone with experience.I liked that it was well laid out and the content was straight to the point. There were also links to resources on how to authenticate art, how to determine the value of the piece, etc. My favorite section was describing how to authenticate your painting. Regardless if someone is pursuing this craft as a hobby or career, I feel like it's a good idea to know some information about the culture, and how to authenticate paintings is a good piece of knowledge. What I disliked about this was that it seemed more for a beginner than for everyone else, but the title mostly implies that, so not really a problem. The other problem is that this book is mainly focused on paintings, rather than other art, like sculptures.Good book for beginners on flipping paintings for a profit.

Simple and effective.
Book well written, small, compact, simple and effective. At first glance, one thinks "oh man, this is pretty small". However, within the it's pages there lies practical advice to be used immediately. The very next day while I was flea market sourcing, I bought a Jack Pierson mid 90s work valued around 4-6k, I would have bought this anyway, but what I didn't know was you should open the back of the frame up. If I hadn't known this, I would have listed it around 80 dollars (purchased at 5 dollars from flea market vendor). However, I had read the book literally just finishing the day before and alas I opened back, saw signature, title, and print run number. Thus, the book has already provided me with value and you should consider buying.

Waste of money and time
This is the smallest "book" I have ever seen, I would actually say it's more of a pamphlet or online pdf. I've just read the entire thing back to front in 20 minutes and it is full of information you might find on the net for free. The pages are not numbered but there are so few I counted them, there are 28 double sided pages some of which are not full up and some of which that are just examples of some art with a description. I could sum up what this "book" is telling you as follows, learn about art, by some art cheap and then flog it. It's basically just common sense. I would go so far as to say this is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent and if I could give it minus start then I would.

It not only kick starts your knowledge about the art game, but there are some valuable insights that you can use that will set you apart from the average art person. I enjoyed reading this, and wish it were even longer

Not in depth enough
Easy read but not what I expected in the way of identifying different types of art
