Mechanical timer to keep me ticking!
I’m a childless adult with ADHD. For decades, I’ve used kitchen timers to set work intervals and stay on task. The ticking always helped, but the alarm was usually jarring and often made me jump.I recently learned about visual timers, and loved the concept—but most products list silence (not ticking) as a feature. The ticking is part of what I love!I searched high and low for a visual timer that ticked, and this one checked every box. And it’s so much better than I expected! The display is BIG. You can easily read it from across the room. It is fully mechanical, so the tactile feedback of setting the time is just *chefs kiss* so satisfying. Cranking the dial feels sturdy and feels like nice mechanics inside.Unlike the timers I was using before, the bell is much softer. It’s a lower pitch and not so jarring—it’s still loud enough to function as a kitchen timer, but it doesn’t make me want to jump out of my skin! The visuals are nice. The numbers are large and crisp, and the hashes within the 5 minute marks are clear and easy to see. The color of the visual component is perfect—I have the blue one, and it’s enough tint to see from far away, yet light enough to easily read the numbers and hashes.TLDR: it’s perfect for my usage at home! Alternatives don’t quite fit the bill, and I think this one is a really great price since it checks all the boxes! For those not used to using kitchen timers, just remember you have to turn past 55 minutes (to activate the bell) before selecting the desired time. I have to remind my husband when he uses it!I would love if this company made similar timers of different time lengths, like 20 minutes.

Works well, loud!
I got This timer to help my three-year-old toddlers understand the concept of time when it comes to things like eating dinner or to get ready for bed, clean up, etc. it seems to be working well, I have had it for approximately four months now and my kids like and expect it to be set before bedtime lol for it to actually work, you have to wind it all the way between 11 and 12 then release it back to the time you want to have set. It isn’t bothersome at all except that it is quite loud. The magnet is really strong and sticks well to our refrigerator. It is also easy to see thanks to the blue portion of the timer.

A handy tool for toddlers!
This was just delivered yesterday and we used it right away this morning to help my almost 4 year old get excited about getting ready for daycare instead of fighting the whole process like most mornings.Well. It worked!! He loved being able to see how much tome he had to "race" getting dressed, shoes on, teeth brushed, etc. I ordered the rainbow one and it's perfect and easy to see! I love that we can take it anywhere because it had a spot to hang it, a magnet and a kickstand.

Not distracting loud, is helpful
Easy to use, ticking is not super loud, but is useful for those who need to hear the timer is on/running. Ring isn't too loud. It is loud, but not jarring. Tried silent count down timer before and child forgot it was on/didn't pay attention to time passing. This one is helping child with focusing issues.

ticking but no sound at zero
I just received this item, tried to use it, and the timer does not beep. There is ticking but no sound to indicate that the time is up.

Perfect for kids in need of time limits!
This is great for setting time limits! It doesn’t require batteries - which is a huge bonus!! It is colorful and shows the time moving as the color disappears. The numbers are large so kids can easily see the time expectations. The ticking noise is minimal but may annoy some people. It has a strong magnet on the back so it is placed on our fridge (but also has a stand so can be propped up in a table or dresser) and we can hear the ding easily in another room.

Maybe for home or a calmer classroom?
My students nearly destroyed this in the first few days of having it in class. It was a small behavioral needs classroom and they were definitely still struggling with respecting other people's things and playing way too rough when they knew it wasn't a rough play toy but a lesson aide. For my own studies, I've had luck with a smaller pomadoro flip timer with a dial read out and color countdown bar, but even if it's got the volume up I'll sometimes forget it's there. This is painfully loud and startling, so you definitely couldn't ignore this and it's hard to stop one it goes off. So it lost a star for the abrasive bell and difficult stopping it, something that can be a huge interruption in class.I think if you have space for this or a classroom that doesn't throw things, and you/your students don't jump at harsh alarms, then this could be great. It seemed a little off, as in slow one use but fast the next, even with fresh batteries, but I don't think that it's a major impact for most things. Still, lost a star there as it was the only option I had for a benchmarking assessment day and had to figure out if it was fast or slow which made it all the more stressful. These are my pros and cons, decide for yourself but double check the seller because some won't return or exchange a broken in the box clock as a colleague of mine discovered.
