Review: It cuts through most sizes of mushrooms. - I bought this product five years ago to slice fresh mushrooms. It worked flawlessly until recently when one of the blades broke. It’s a little bit pricey, but well worth it for the convenience of being able to slice those large, fresh mushrooms a lot faster, and safer than I can do it by hand.

I bought this product five years ago to slice fresh mushrooms. It worked flawlessly until recently when one of the blades broke. It’s a little bit pricey, but well worth it for the convenience of being able to slice those large, fresh mushrooms a lot faster, and safer than I can do it by hand.

I purchased this product after being fed up with fixing the wires of my previous slicer. I use this tool for slicing eggs, strawberries, mushrooms, kiwi...so I wanted one that had strong solid metal blades. That is what I thought this was. While it has solid, metal blades instead of wires, I found the blades to be slightly flimsy. It cuts eggs and cooked beets well, but mushrooms and firmer fruits are harder to cut and can bend the blades. Stronger blades would be nice. But it does the trick for now and is easy to use and clean.
