Full of clichés but still a joy to read

Run To You is a happy and fluffy book about two women in significantly different societal positions that get brought together for work. The book is a bit slow at first while Catherine warms up to Emily - but once she does, it becomes such a joy to read. The interactions between them were simply superb, and I adored how the author described each of their thoughts / feelings. While this switching of perspectives can be a bit confusing at times, I think it generally helps the reader relate to the characters - especially those that are more quiet in nature. One particularly enjoyable element worth calling out is that there are random adorable animal scenes that occur throughout the story. You can tell the author is a fan of dogs as she does a great job of describing both the animals and the way people interact with them. Whenever one of the characters were feeling particularly stressed, Beers would throw in a dog and things would be OK again. With all that being said, I did have a few issues with the book. The most notable of these was the consistent tension that develops starting from the point that Catherine and Emily realize they have feelings for each other. For just over half the book, you *know* what's going to happen and are just waiting for the drama to start. This made it difficult for me to appreciate some of the more sensual scenes between them as I wanted to find out what happens. On the bright side, when the problems do arise, they are resolved fairly quickly and in a way that wasn't too painful. Unfortunately, that resolution was just cliché after cliché. This isn't *necessarily* a bad thing in and of itself, but I know I was hoping for something a little different.Despite those issues, I still would highly recommend Run To You. The character interactions were squee worthy and the random animal moments sprinkled throughout brought a smile to my face. If you can get over the long lasting tension and the stereotypical climax, you're definitely in for a treat.

    Enjoyed It

Our second love story revolving around Junebug Farms, and I enjoyed this one even better than Lisa & Ashley's; now we just got to get Jessica someone special. This book was an enjoyable romance between Emily the rich daughter of the family whose foundation supported the no-kill animal shelter, and Catherine the shelters accountant who grew up the youngest daughter of a single mother; Catherine not only worked for Junebug Farms, but also maintained a second job as a waitress. Two people from two different worlds, both of whom were told by everyone they knew this relationship was a bad idea, yet neither could resist spending time with the other. Not surprisingly the major road block to a happy relationship between the two women is Catherine and her inability to just "Go for it", as her mother told her.Buy it, you will not regret it

    Cute.....But

*by H***A on July 9, 2019*

The book was cute. I laughed, I nearly cried. But, I thought naming a dog after a Native American hero and Elder was offensive. Geronimo was a brave warrior against genocide. He died a prisoner of the U.S. Government after they paraded him around like a circus animal. It was hard to enjoy the story with the casual racism mixed in.
