Solid Quirky 20amp Strip
If you need a 20amp power strip/surge protector, you know it’s not a small feast to find. The plug is not the usual standard plug, even the receptacle is special, and in most residential homes, that receptacle goes directly to a 20amp breaker in your panel. Too much hassle for just 5amps extra if you ask me, but I recently upgraded my computer with a 1600watts power supply, and with all other things connected in the room, my breaker started to trip every day. My quest to find a 20amp strip began. I first ordered the 5100, but it came with a straight plug and a thick cable that would extend more than 3 inches from the wall. Even ordering a grandfather clock recessed receptacle did not help since it was behind a bookshelf. This 5300 has a flat angled 20amp plug. Although it’s still deep and thick, I managed to put it behind the bookshelf, and everything worked great. Now, this thing is heavy as you know what. The receptacles on it are not as smooth as normal power strips, and I found some power adapters coming off with a slight tip. If your plug is not a 20amp (peripherals for example), the grip is not as good. For 20amp plugs, it’s working just fine. Lastly, it doesn’t have a power switch as on 5100. Thanks for reading, and YMMV.

Heavy duty
Havent had to use yet,but seems up to the job. The most heavy duty power strip I have ever seen. A little more money than I intended to spend, but I am satisfied with the purchase. No regrets.

Must have for DJ's
I use this to protect my DJ equipment on 20amp breakers. The extra power helps with less cords giving that professional look

Poor choice 3
This power strip is very heavy and does not have an on and off switch.

Worth the money
Works like it should, if you need one like this. I had to buy this unit for my Sauna, because of the 20 amp size/plug

Plug is not standard....
I didn't realize it was not a standard plug.

Points to consider before purchase
Disregard negative reviews about: 1. No on/off switch. It does not have one because this is hospital grade and there cannot be an accidental mishap where the power is switched off for vital equipment. It’s not needed even in other settings other than hospital use. If needed look into the 5100 model.2. This has a T plug that will not fit a normal 15 amp outlet. One of the prongs is horizontal. This is so a 15 amp circuit isn’t overloaded. The easiest way around it is to install a 20 amp receptacle where it will be plugged in, or purchase a 15 amp model surge strip. This being said, Leviton is high quality and as a general contractor and audiophile this strip is for power tools and higher amp audio/video components. I have a stack of McIntosh gear I plan to plug into this strip among other devices.
