The Lion and the Bird

Heartfelt and Beautifully Illustrated
This is one of those rare children's books that stand out from the crowd. The story is sweet and poetic. The message about true friendship and unconditional love is written in a heartfelt and developmentally appropriate way. The kindergarten class I shared it with was spellbound.

The author created a most beautiful story with simple text and gorgeous art.
I bought this delightful story for my two grandsons ages 6 and 4. The older one is just beginning to read and has started reading to the younger one. The art work lends itself to do just that. Each illustration is a feast to the eye. The text is short or there’s no text at all on some pages allowing the imagination and pictures to tell the story. The story is about a lion who seems happy and content going about his daily life; but one day an injured bird falls from the sky. The lion takes care of the bird and a friendship soon blossoms. It’s now too late for the bird to catch up with the flock and so the bird stays with the lion. Then spring comes again…Ahhh, there’s so much more… friendship, helping others, contentment and letting go.The author created a most beautiful story with simple text and gorgeous art. Priceless!

Love this book!
My daughter 3.5 and I love this book, both text and images. There are several levels to read and understand it.So sweet and adorable.I'm going to read it again after our next trip to grandparents, to help her to remember she'll meet them again, even if it's sad when you leave.

Heartwarming story
Loved this story and the illustrations. Loving lion gently cares for an injured bird who missed it's migration. Lovely tale of the selflessness that comes with deep true friendship/love. This book is loved by my Preschool class, boys and girls alike.

capolavoro
