A Great Everyday Watch: Casio
“In my opinion, Casio watches are a great choice because they are simple, affordable, and very reliable. I like them because they have a classic style and they are easy to wear every day. Casio watches are also known for being durable, which makes them perfect for school, work, or outdoor activities. Another thing I like is that they come in many different designs, from sporty to more elegant styles. Overall, I think Casio watches are a good option for anyone who wants a practical and stylish watch without spending too much money.”

Overcame the defective calendar. *Final Update 3/12/15
This watch is built dirt-cheap. I expected that much from a $18 watch. I was still disappointed, because I was under the impression Casio was above this. Honestly, if it broke before the month is over, it would not surprise me any. While I didn't like the cheap build, I'm not gonna lie, I really liked the look of this watch, especially considering the price. It is also the easiest of the analog watches to tell time. I did come close to giving this watch a one star. After I had already placed the order for the watch, I noticed some one star reviews noting the defective calendar dial. I didn't worry much, considering how few one star reviews this watch actually had on Amazon. I got mine delivered just today, and indeed, my 'day' setting was stuck & would not move. As I set everything else, I kept playing with it. Turning the crown slow, fast, slow while pressuring the crown in-out-up-down, you get the idea. Behold, it did start to show some movement, so I kept playing with it. After I spun that crown couple hundred times or so, really fast, the dial became unstuck. It is functioning perfectly now. P.S. Watch I received is "JAPAN MOV'T", "CASED IN CHINA". ***UPDATE*** 2/8/13 I really like this watch. It is the cheapest watch I own, but I wear this one almost everyday. It has performed perfectly, and it has been highly accurate as well. I got it in September, it's February now. If it's still this good next September, I'm gonna have to give it five stars. ***UPDATE2*** 9/27/13 As promised, I'm bumping it from 3 to 5 stars. Not that I've put it thru a torture test, but it has performed perfectly as a daily wear watch thru some exposure to water(never submerged though), and plenty of tossing & bumping around. I got more than my money's worth. ***UPDATE3*** 12/8/14 Still performing perfectly, even after 2+ years. Keeps very accurate time, too. My first impression of this watch was dead wrong. ***FINAL UPDATE*** 3/12/15 I originally purchased this watch knowing that its design borrowed heavily from the Luminox Navy SEAL watch. I finally bought that Luminox couple of months ago when I misplaced this Casio. I've found the Casio since, but I no longer wear it for obvious reasons, so this would be the last update of my review. I guess I used this watch for nearly 2.5 years, and other than the defective calendar dial I wrestled with at the start, it's been 100% problem free. Even the band/strap's still in perfect shape, and is powered by the original battery it came with. Well done, Casio. :)

Great inexpensive "dive style" watch - Inaccurate title
It's the least expensive diver style watch that I've found from a reputable brand that has a rotating bidirectional diver bezel and more than decent water resistance at 100m. It looks great and is functional - although I wouldn't do any serious diving with it. Watch diameter (minus crown) is 43mm and is 11.5mm thick. It's smaller than the Duro and wears more like a large field or pilot watch than a thick Gshock watch. The only downside are the straps. When compared to a Gshock strap (3mm) or an Illuminator strap (2mm), it feels thin at 1.5mm. They feel cheap and flop around but they are functional. If you want to replace it, you'll need an 18mm width strap. NOTE: While the watch is great, I'm taking a star off for the inaccurate title: - Case is resin/plastic - it is not stainless steel - It is not a screw down crown - it is your typical push/pull crown - It is not a screw down caseback (like on the Duro) - it is a stainless steel caseback held down with 4 screws

Cheap But Accurate
I needed an inexpensive watch for a road trip that would give me the day and date and allow me to add a small compass to the band. Having had several Casio watches in the past I looked at that brand first. At first, I ignored this watch, because it was so inexpensive that I figured it couldn’t be worth anything. However, after looking at several more expensive versions I returned to look at the reviews on this watch. There were enough good things said about this watch that I decided to buy it. I figured that for the price of a few gallons of gas if it only lasted a month it would have met the requirement that I had for it. I got it several days ago and set it up immediately. Like several other reviewers have indicated, getting the day and date to change is a bit of a challenge initially. I resolved that by winding the minute hand past the point where I saw the date change and then continued to move that hand to after 5 AM. It was very easy to set the date and day at that point. Once I had it set up, I set the time using the Verizon time on my iPhone. I set the hour; the minute; and the second. Four days later the watch has not lost or gained a second. So it gets an A+ for accuracy. This watch is not a rugged watch but it appears that it will hold up to getting wet in rain or from perspiration and it will probably work pretty well in the humid environments. The numbers and markings on the face are very easy to see in the daytime. However, there are no luminous features on the markings so seeing it at night requires a light source. The battery claims it will work for five years in this watch. I doubt that I will be back to confirm that. The only negative comment I have is that this watch is made in the land of the Great Wall and surveillance balloons. I can’t understand why a company like Casio can’t come up with manufacturing locations in central and South America. *UPDATE* 8/4/24 - I have had this watch for a week and I am amazed. Either Verizon uses this watch to run their system clock, or this watch is tethered to my iPhone’s clock, or this watch has perfect time… Whatever it is, the watch has not lost or gained one second since I set it a week ago. For just over $20, even if it breaks down in a year, it is worth it for an outdoor or work watch. I would not hesitate to buy one again. *UPDATE* 12/18/24 Okay, here is an update that I really never figured I would make. This watch is as good, if not better, than my old Casios that crapped out after years of Army living in the field or my dress watches made by Seiko (the official timepiece of the Vietnam War). Other than the lack of luminous face features this watch is fantastic. It got a pretty good workout on the extended trip that I bought it for. It survived several soakings, jarring and long periods of extreme vibrations. The mechanical functions are still tight and the time is incredibly accurate, losing only a few seconds per month. So my advice is go ahead and buy one. If anyone from Casio is reading this I would suggest adding small tritium capsules at each hour on the face and tritium on the three hands, jack up the price a bit and sell it. It would be a great watch.

Great daily analog watch. Very soft, comfortable resin strap. Accurate, totally waterproof and looks great. I have a narrow wrist and despite the reasonably large stated dimensions, it doesn't look overly large at all. I don't notice the ticking sound from this watch at all. You have to hold it up to your ear to hear it at all. By comparison, I have a timex analog watch as well and I can hear it ticking from across the room. This Casio has Japanese made movement, so I figure its high quality. Only complaint is that the luminescence on the hands isn't really that great. Only lasts a couple of seconds, if anything. Overall, I'm very happy with the watch. Wear it daily, and hope it lasts a long time.

Very well made god the price and nice day / date feature Looks much more expensive than its price ! I’m traveling to Mexico and I was worried about being attacked and robbed if I wore one of my Swiss watches but with this beautiful Casio I will be ready for the cartel !
