Great Neutral and Comfortable chair
I wanted a versatile and comfortable chair that can be used later with the rest of the furniture when no longer needed in the nursery. I tried a few chairs in the store (Pottery Barn) and loved the "Sinking in comfy affect". What I love about this chair is the multiple functions. Unlike the chairs at Pottery Barn, which I loved also mainly because of comfort and style, it offers the swivel, foot rest/reclining, and rocking features in one chair for a fraction of the cost. This chair is firm (firmer than some of the chairs in Pottery Barn) with good back support and when leaning back it is comfortable. The head support is sufficient and the fabric is a durable microfiber that is easily cleaned. It is also pet hair friendly meaning it comes off easily. We have cats so it is hard to maintain upholstery. The mechanism of this chair is easy to use and one does not have to use excessive force to use recline. It swivels at a 360 degree and rocks very smoothly and with ease. I only use my toes to operate the rocking feature. The only time you are not able to use the rocking feature is when using the foot rest as described under the item description in the listing. The assembly was simple and easy as it is delivered in 2 parts. All you do is snap the back into the seat area! It goes great with my nursery colors of Gray, Navy Blue and espresso/chocolate furniture. I needed something neutral other than gray that we would be able to use with the rest of the house colors if we decided to move it to a different location. This is a great versatile color that goes with everything. Price is doable compared to others and considering what this chair offers and the quality is great. It is build on a sturdy metal frame from what we were able to see before assembly. I do recommend :)

Great value, incredibly comfortable and pretty
I looked at dozens of gliders before choosing this one. My first baby was born in 2012, and we bought a Roma Status(?) glider for her nursery, and ended up regretting it. It was nice enough, but within a month developed a loud squeak and needed to be greased every few weeks thereafter to keep the squeaking at bay.So, when putting together a nursery for our 2nd daughter, I wanted to avoid another costly mistake. I spent hours researching and reading reviews, and was impressed by the expensive look and reasonable price of this one. We've had it since December 2015 and I use it daily, and absolutely love it. It is much more comfortable than the $500 recliner in our living room, has a classic, elegant look, and, best of all, is SILENT.It's generously sized. I'm 5'8 and 145 lbs, and my husband is 6'0 and 240 lbs. Many gliders were too short and too narrow for him; this one is just wide enough for him, and has a little extra space for me, which was helpful when using a nursing pillow. It's the perfect balance of cushiness and support; never makes my back hurt, no matter how long I sit in it.The motion is unusual, somewhere between gliding and rocking, and extremely smooth. The footrest and recline are both great too. I can't say enough good things about this chair. Having tried out $600-$800 Dutailiers before in-store (which we just couldn't afford), I would say this rivals them in comfort and quality. It is an amazing value, and a huge help in getting my baby to sleep. The only drawback is the footrest is a bit of a pain to close and makes noise loud enough it might wake a sleeping baby. However, I doubt any recliners anywhere near this price point would be much better in this respect. The motion, both gliding and swiveling, is totally silent.

Good chair!
I agonized over what type of chair to get for the nursery room. I knew I wanted something that could recline generously, rocked smoothly, was large enough to accommodate my husband, and looked decently cute enough that it could work in other rooms of the house eventually. Most importantly, I wanted something that would cost less than $500. This chair fits the bill! The only other chair that I found that seemed to tick these boxes was the Davinci Piper chair, which was less expensive, but had a 2 month ship time estimate and didn't look as plush as the Mikayla. I preferred the styling of the Davinci, but I've discovered that I quite like the "wings" around the head area of the Mikayla as a place to rest my head. Also, I threw a blanket over the chair, and with the Davinici, the lever for the foot rest is on the interior which wouldn't work if you want to keep a blanket draped over the chair. On this chair, the lever is outside of the right arm. Some have mentioned that the footrest is a bit difficult to push back in. I agree. However all of the chairs I tested in stores were the same. To make things easier, as I'm leaning forward, I push the foot rest in with my heels and use the leverage of standing up and rocking the chair forward to pop the footrest in with less effort. I hope that makes sense. I have also seen some reviews where people would have preferred the chair still rock when the footrest is deployed - this one doesn't. I didn't find any chairs that did though, even in higher price ranges. This one does still "wiggle" a bit when reclined/footrest out. I did purchase a separate ottoman for rocking ease - I'm short and my feet don't touch the ground when sitting in the chair. It is tall enough for my tall husband to sit or recline in, the seat is nice and roomy in comparison to many that I tried in the same price point, and the material is soft and plush. I like it a lot!
