I was looking for a laptop stand that allowed me to use my laptop as a desktop replacement. This stand is simple, nice looking, functional and contrary to a review I read, stable. I suppose, there might be a laptop with a super slippery bottom that might allow the laptop to fall if it is bumped by accident, but honestly it is hard for me to envision any laptop falling or sliding off the stand on it's own. I am currently using the stand with my Sony Vaio 15.6" laptop. In any case, let me return to my review: 1. The stand lifts the laptop monitor up to a height that is the perfect height for me.. the top of the monitor is just below eye level. 2. The design of the stand allows it to not have any side rails so that any keyboard, no matter what size, can be stored under the laptop freeing up the maximum desk space when the laptop is not in use. 3. The stand is very sturdy and stable. The stand has a very slight angle forward to counter-balance the monitor screen and expose the laptop keyboard to the user. The high quality rubber on the solid metal bracing provides a sturdy and stable base for the laptop. As I stated earlier, I can't imagine this falling or slipping off the stand unless the table is not stable or if it is accidentally knocked off or yanked off by a cable, but this is true of most stands. There are plastic little tabs that stick up on the front of the stands for a super slippery laptop with a near zero frictional coefficient. ;) 4. The laptop stand looks cool. The laptop floats in the air. I have a cable that connects to the second monitor and a USB cable for additional storage, but other than that the stand, laptop, second monitor, wireless keyboard, and wireless mouse create a very functional, cool looking, and clean desktop. I shopped for a long time for this stand and am very pleased with it. Oh, the amazon price was substantially lower than what I saw this stand for elsewhere (or even with other vendors on Amazon.) Excellent laptop stand. My husband uses this every day for work from home. It works better for him than for me because it isn’t adjustable up and down. I really like it but it’s a little high for me for regular use. My husband is six inches taller than me and it works great for him. It is very attractive, simple, and sleek. Will look attractive in any type of decor. Very sturdy.

I got this to use with my Macbook pro, and it works perfectly. It comes in three pieces - two arms and one base piece. There are also little tabs that slip on the ends of the arms to keep your computer from sliding off. However, these are hardly needed because there is a nice rubber grip along the full length of the arms. Assembly is easy, and the stand can also be very conveniently pack up. I've moved my office a couple times since making this purchase, and they have been vey easy to pack up. Really great product. It is sleek and sturdy, and provides me with a little extra room underneath as well. I've been using this to prop up my Macbook and set it alongside my external monitor, and I have absolutely not complaints. I would highly recommend this.

I ordered the Griffin Laptop stand to elevate my 15" MacBook Pro next to my external monitor. It makes it significantly easier to do video editing on two screens when they're actually side by side. Considering the price, I was a little nervous about what the quality of the stand might be. Surprisingly, it's a very high quality stand in my opinion. It's made out of quality material, it is very sturdy, and it has guards on the end to secure the laptop a little more. It fits my 15" very nicely, it might be a little small for 17", and it matches the style of the Macbook wonderfully. The way it's elevated, it allows for me to place a couple of textbooks, a reading book, and a Kindle all underneath it in a very neat and organized way. So, here's what's good about this product: The Griffin laptop stand seems like a high quality, sturdy stand to me that also looks really nice. It has a "minimalistic" look to it (which I absolutely love), and it also has some grips on the end to help hold your laptop in place. The way it's built to elevate the laptop, it leaves a small storage area for a couple of textbooks underneath. It's also a breeze to assemble (more on this below though). What could make it better: Like I said this is a great product, but there are some areas where it could be improved. For one, the grip on the two metal strips could be a little stronger. They're not very "grippy". If it weren't for the guards on the end, I would be a little worried about the laptop falling off. Thinking back to the assembly, I think a little more support would make it more "secure" in a way. As it stands, you just slide them into place. Maybe adding a couple of screws would help this. Well, there you have it. It's a great stylish stand that's easy to assemble and fairly sturdy. It's definitely a great stand for the price.

Nice design, especially if you want something that quickly folds down and is portable (lightweight, small). Is relatively stable and strong enough to hold even very large laptops. Tasteful, elegant and non obtrusive design. Room for improvement: the stand clips together quickly and easily, but nothing locks the joints into place. After a prolonged period of use, the joints begin to slide apart. Of course, they can always be slid back into place and restored to full strength and stability with no problem, but it would have been nice to have some sort of feature which allows the joints to lock once assembled (but still capable of unlocking when disassembling).

This is the second (identical) stand that I have purchased. I've been using one for my 14" MacBook Pro to lift it up above my Wacom Cintiq tablet and it's perfect. Minimal design, and allows for plenty of air flow underneath (and space for cables and connectors). The second stand that I purchased was for my husband's set up on his desk - he kept threatening to steal mine. I've had absolutely no issues with sliding, bouncing, or any other movement. There are little clear shelf clips that attach to the ends that keep your laptop from sliding off - those are not plainly visible in the photos in this listing.

I used a computer stand similar to this one (with a 13" Macbook) at a place of employment. When I needed my own, I started looking through my options and decided to go with this Griffin stand. I have a 15" MacBook Pro, and this stand works perfectly for it. The height is not adjustable, but at 5'3" the height is great for me. When my 6' husband tried it out, it was great for him too. My laptop gets hot, so I appreciate the way that air is allowed to circulate all the way around the computer. It is also not bulky or an eyesore. In fact, I think it's barely noticeable on my desk. I can stuff my keyboard underneath it when I want to use more desk space. I also greatly appreciate that it can be easily disassembled for storage or packing if I need to relocate it. Several of the reviews that I read mentioned that the stand loses its grip after a while. The one at work that I used previously never lost its grip even after several years of use. Having said that, I was still a bit concerned. BUT when this shipment came, there are two small clips that attach to the ends of the top of the stand that should prevent the laptop from sliding off. Griffin must have listened to its customers and made this improvement. Kudos for that, Griffin. The only issue for me is that my CD insertion point is on the front right side, and one of the clips impedes the ease of use. I rarely use the drive, though, so it's a non-issue for me. If I were inserting and ejecting CDs all day, though, I would probably just not use the clip. Overall, a great buy and reasonably priced.

These stands work great. I've probably bought 8 of these in the past few years and keep buying them for our new staff as they just work. - The stand helps raise a laptop above the desk to help reclaim work space. - It elevates the laptop screen to a more comfortable height for your eye line and the added height makes working with a second or third monitor more comfortable as well. - You can store things under the laptop, such as the power supply or a USB hard disk. - It help keep a laptop cool, and look good while doing it. The only issue I've had with this stand is that my old 15" MacBook Pro from 2010 would slide down and be at risk of falling off the front if used without the little transparent "safety clips" that Griffin provides in the box. However; when using the clips it doesn't look quite as clean and tidy as without them (such as in the product photos), but in the end the clips are pretty unobtrusive overall. I've yet to try the stand out with my new MacBook, hopefully as it's smaller and lighter (13" instead of 15") it may stay put all on its own. Every time I have to buy a new stand for another member of staff I take a look at the market and see if anything new has surpassed the Griffin Elevator, but everything else looks bulky or messy and I always come back to the Elevator. Strongly recommended.

Great stand, lifts the laptop to a perfect height to be beside my monitor and makes for a perfect dual screen set up. Style - If your laptop is silver this will look great. The simple look of silver and clear plastic makes for a very clean desk set up and the for factor allows you to put stuff like books, files, etc under the laptop, freeing up even more space on the desk. Functionality - Supports my 13" laptop perfectly, and in the office my coworkers have the same one that supports their 15" MBPs. The grippy grey parts work as advertise. The open space on the bottom also allows for better air circulation so that's a huge plus. (I used to stack my laptop on top of books, and let's just say things got loud under there) Height - It brings up your laptop screen about 6" off the base of the desk (See photos). Puts it right in the sweet spot beside my 22 inch monitor. Price - Okay it is kind of expensive, compared to my previous solution of textbooks, but it looks good, adds to a very clean desk, and will transcend any one laptop, it'll probably be functional until laptops are obsolete. I mean, I can always sell it to someone else? Overall, the look and functionality of this stand makes it worthwhile, expensive, but I'd buy this again if it was required for my new office, no regrets. The Griffin Elevator Computer Laptop Stand - Silver/Clear came very well packaged and protected, eash item was bagged and in a box with protectors to stop anything knocking about. The stand requires assembly but this is not difficult as all, I would say this is a good think as it makes it portable which is a good bonus should you need to move it to another area. There is instructions with the stand for assembly too in case you should need them. The stand itself is very sturdy when assembled, the legs are made from what I think is Aluminium, and are held into place by a plastic housing. the legs have rubber feel to prevent the stand slipping on your desk surface, and two stripes of rubber on the top of the legs to hold your laptop securely and prevent it from slipping off the stand too, this is further secured with plastic clips on the end pf the legs to hols the laptop in place. The stand has my laptop sitting at a perfect height for me, I use my laptop with an extra monitor and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo while I have my stand further back on my desk to free space. The stand aids greatly with cooling, barely have any temperature fluctuations with my laptop as there is much better airflow access to the vents, I would highly recommend this product for a desk setup with a laptop.
