Wow! Truly blown away by the Remington RX5.
The media could not be loaded. For most of my life, I’ve used traditional clippers to keep my head shaved, and they have always been a hassle. They’re uncomfortable, catch on my scalp, and leave streaks, often causing angry spots and redness, especially on the back of my neck. They get the job done, but they’re far from ideal. Occasionally, if I was really in the mood for punishment, I’d go for a wet shave with a razor. As much as I love the feel of a properly smooth head (and so does my girlfriend!), my scalp would always end up looking like it had been through a war with cuts, nicks, and sores everywhere, even when I was extra careful. I couldn’t keep going into work with a head full of cuts, so I gave up on that.I’ve always wanted to try a head shaver like the Remington RX5 Ultimate, but for the longest time, I was put off by mixed reviews. I’ve tried cheaper electric shavers in the past, but they’ve all been rubbish. Either they didn’t give a close enough shave or they broke after a short period. Some of my friends had tried similar products, like the Skull Shaver, and weren’t too impressed with those, so I hesitated to buy this one, fearing it would turn out to be another let-down. After years of debating whether to take the plunge, I finally decided to give the RX5 a go, and I’m honestly blown away. This shaver is awesome! The shaver arrived in excellent condition and was well-packaged. I was pleasantly surprised to find a travel pouch included, making it ideal for those who need to take it on trips or simply want to store it neatly at home. Upon unboxing, I was immediately impressed by the shaver's build quality; it feels sturdy and durable, clearly designed for regular use. The ergonomic handle fits comfortably in my hand, allowing for easy manoeuvrability, especially when reaching those tricky areas of my head. One thing to keep in mind is that you cannot use it right away; it requires a full charge before the first use, but this is quite standard for devices of this type.My first shave with the RX5 was truly incredible, and every subsequent shave has been just as impressive. I've never used a head shaver that left my scalp feeling so smooth without any irritation or discomfort. Unlike my previous clippers, there’s no tugging at the hair or streaky patches left behind. The RX5 glides effortlessly over my scalp, delivering a consistently even finish every time. The product description claims you can shave your whole head in under two minutes, which I find hard to believe based on my own experience, but maybe that's just because I'm new to it. That said, it’s still significantly quicker than using clippers or a razor, and it’s mess-free. The fact that it’s waterproof means I can rinse it off easily after each shave, which saves a lot of time in terms of cleaning.I’ve used this shaver both dry and wet, and while both methods are great, I personally prefer using it dry because it’s quicker and still gives an incredibly close shave. The RX5 is quiet, unlike some other electric shavers I’ve tried in the past, and the pivoting head adjusts well to the curves of my scalp. I also noticed that since switching to the RX5, I’ve had far fewer issues with irritation and breakouts, particularly at the back of my neck. My skin feels a lot calmer after a shave, and I haven’t had any of the usual flare-ups I’d get with clippers or a razor. This has been a huge win for me, as my sensitive skin has always been a problem when using other hair-removal methods. The battery life is decent but not great. I’ve been able to get multiple shaves before needing to recharge it, which is good enough for me, and the LED indicator is a handy feature to keep track of the battery level. It's a shame you can’t use the shaver while it’s charging. If it runs out of battery halfway through a shave, you’re stuck waiting for it to charge up again, which isn’t ideal. It hasn’t happened to me yet, but it’s something I’m always conscious of.There are a couple of small downsides, though. One is that the RX5 comes with a UK bathroom two-pin plug, which wasn’t made clear in the listing. Luckily, I already had an adapter, so it wasn’t a huge issue, but I think it should come with one included if you’re selling it in the UK, as not everyone has a shaver socket in their bathroom. Another minor annoyance is the pop-up trimmer; it’s not particularly strong and doesn’t give a great cut. What’s more, it turns on automatically when you start the main shaver, whether you’re using it or not, which feels like an oversight in the design.Despite these minor quirks, I’m thrilled with the RX5. It’s hard to believe that I put off buying it for so long. At £54.96, it's excellent value for money and far better than any of the cheaper alternatives I’ve tried; it even outperforms more expensive options. The fact that you can buy replacement heads is a bonus, even if they are a bit pricey, as it increases the longevity of the shaver. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks, but it’s already made head shaving so much easier and more comfortable. I no longer dread shaving my head, and I’m really looking forward to using this long-term. If you’re thinking about making the switch to an electric head shaver, I’d highly recommend the Remington RX5.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope that you found it helpful and that it assists you in your decision-making. I try to be as honest and fair as possible, as those have always been the reviews that helped me the most.

Easy to use
Kept my hair really short at the back, sides - balding on top. Bit apprehensive about shaving it all off, but decided to just do it. After all only hair it will grow back, or it won't, if I don't like it. Read reviews on various bits of kit for doing this, and decided on the Remington RX5. One of the reasons, brand name I have to say, Remington has been around a long time. And I have had Remington stuff in the past and it has always lasted. I tend to stay a bit brand loyal, until I have reason not to.So I purchased this and I have to say, going completely bald for the first time was surprisingly easy. At least with this RX5. Hair was short anyway, 0.5mm. Blitzed it with the RX5 in a couple of minutes, put some moisturising stuff on my head after. And fine I don't mind the all-bald look. I think if your hair is departing, unless you want to spend a lot of money trying to hold onto it, blitzing it is the best way to go.Used the RX5 three times so far since purchase, only charged it once. I reckon the frequency will depend on the user. I don't mind it showing a bit of kind of shadow hair, outline sort of thing. My hair is light anyway, so I can go four/five days if not a little longer. Probably somebody with really dark hair, be three days or less before you would need to do it again.RX5 easy to use, easy to clean. When using, you can kind of feel the areas that need to be done almost through the vibration in a way in your hand. It is sort of has a different feel when it is cutting to when it is going over a smooth area. Hard to explain to anybody that hasn't used it.Good results, perhaps not as close a shave as an actual razor. But if you have ever used an electric razor vs wet shave, you know what results to expect.Overall pleased with the Remington RX5. Nice feel in the hand, does the job well. Close enough shave for me. And I find it a lot easier than using say hair cutters, with them you always seem to miss spots and stuff. With this and the various blades, it really does catch all areas. And not having hair at all, doesn't feel much different. Just a lot easier to maintain.

Good product
This is a good product and it does a good job of giving a close shave. Had it for a 2 months now and been using it everyday. To get the best shave you will need to go over your head a few times and different angles and different ways so it can get all the hair. It is very light and easy in hand. I am happy with this product. There are few bad points about this, you cannot power it up with the cable and use it at the same time. It will have to be charged then you can use it. Over the last 2 months I have seen the battery deplete a lot more quickly. It was 50 min before but now it dropped down to 30 min. If you shave your head everyday it will need to be charged everyday. The power adapter is a europen plug. Even though you are buying from UK marker it still has European plug, meaning it will need a converter. But overall for the price and the quality it is great, does the job and very easy to clean. There is a update to this as well a little more expensive, has 2 modes but does the same Job.I would recommend this for anyone who wants a cheap one compare to the skull crush ones.I gave 4 because of the flows mentioned. Otherwise a goof product.
