Not brushing but just letting him play with it under supervision. I'd yell, "I bet that tickles!" and tap it on various parts of his body. Eentually, he started to loooove playing with it and by the time he was teething the vibrations were so important that we couldn't leave the house without it. Sooooo many baby hysterics avoided because of this wonderful distraction. He's 9 months and still adores it. Never stopped adoring it. We have been brushing his teeth since 3 months old with the mint 4 stage tooth brush set and just upgraded to this about 2 months ago. He really likes the vibrating teethers so I thought he would like this tooth brush. I was right, he grabs it out of my hands and brushes his own teeth. The vibration don’t clean the teeth any more than a regular tooth brush but it helps sooth sore gums. The light on it helps a lot when brushing the back teeth. I sometimes just use the light to see if a tooth is coming in or check his mouth to make sure his gums and teeth are healthy. This is definitely a good buy.
