THOR: HEROES RETURN OMNIBUS VOL. 1 (Thor: Heroes Return, 1)

Der schwergewichtige Omnibus hat gemischte Gefühle hinterlassen. Die Comics aus den späten 90ern sind nicht meine Favoriten, und so musste ich mich mit Dan Jurgens epischem Run erst einmal etwas anfreunden. Die Zeichnungen haben mir zum großen Teil nur mittelgut gefallen, wie die Handlung sind sie sehr bombastisch, riesenhaft, grell. Sie erinnerten mich ein wenig an den Disney-Film HERCULES, den ich zur selben Zeit mit meinem Sohn im Kino anschauen musste, als diese Comics gezeichnet wurden: immer größere Muskelberge dominieren das Bild und die Bösen werden immer böser, so dass man auf den Sieg des Helden fast nicht zu hoffen wagt.Die Handlung rund um die "Angelegenheiten", die Thor an die Erde binden, hat mir wirklich gut gefallen, davon hätte ich mir größere Abschnitte gewünscht. Aber irgendwie ist es ja klar, dass der typische Thor=Leser den kosmisch=göttlichen ewigen Kampf von Gut gegen Böse sehen will. Und so reiht sich dann ein übermächtiger, scheinbar unbesiegbarer Feind an den anderen, und mit der gleichen Inbrunst, mit der der Gott des Donners ständig "I say thee nay" ausruft, besiegt er das Böse dann doch.Viele gute und witzige Ideen stecken in diesem Ziegel, aber auch viel kosmischer Tinnef. Knappe vier Sterne, würde ich sagen, wobei auf bummelig 1200 Seiten die Eindrücke natürlich schon unterschiedlich sind.Ob ich den zweiten Band auch Lese, wenn er erscheint? Mal schauen ...

This book covers the first half of dan jurgens 6 year thor run. I do think its one of the most underrated thor runs. It is great. And i hope they release a second volume to complete this run. I am a little bit nervous about that because its titled "thor heroes return" not "thor heroes return vol1". But hopefully it will sell well enough to justify a vol 2. .It starts out with thor returning after a year long adsence of him being assumed dead. He comes back only to find asgard in ruins. And all his fellow gods missing. He also gets a new mortal identity. This storyline plays out for about the first year of jurgens run. And it does not disapoint. It also introduces a whole new groupd of villains for thor to overcome.Other highlights include thor hunting thanos across the universe. Now that storyline was epic. And a must read, In my opinion. You also get a crossover with iron man, spidey and the juggernaut. And a ton of other storylines.It is all very well done. And jurgens writes all of it. So it def has a flow throughout the whole book, and you can tell its leading somewhere. The end sets up vol 2 very well. And you know something big is going to happen. So once again.... i hope they release a second volume.But all in all.... if you like thor? Get this book. Its thor at his best.

A história retrata um dos runs mais interessantes do poderoso thor, consideravelmente longo permite o roteirista dan jurgens construir um arco consistente. O desenhista principal desta edição é o John Romita JR, que remete muito ao tempo do Kirby a frente do título. Contém edições além do título do poderoso thor para complementar sagas, como por exemplo a "O oitavo dia" que envolve títulos do homem de ferro, homem aranha entre outros.A edição é primorosa, com dust cover e acabamento muito cuidadoso, são muitas páginas que vão agradar com certeza os colecionadores mais exigentes.

Essa fase de histórias e da arte é coisa de louco boa demais esse run do Thor e heróis retornam. Podem pegar sem medo material 10
