Ikea Holmo 46 Inch Floor Lamp with LED Bulb

I looked at the dimensions before I bought this, but I didn't realize until I saw it assembled and in the space that it's kind of an awkward size. As a floor lamp, it looks too small to me wherever I've put it; but at the same time, it's too tall and "tippy" to put on a table.I didn't return the Holmo, but it's buried in an odd corner behind a bedroom door. I found a much larger lamp of the same design (taller, bigger diameter, two bulbs instead of one) at a local big box home improvement store for the same price. The larger lamp looks much more proportionate in the place that I intended to put the Holmo.

I almost want to get more but I think it's better as an accent lamp. I ordered the one with the LED bulb and I'm glad I did. It lights up our living room which is what we needed. We don't have a light fixture, just a light switch connected to an outlet.It's not too bright, certain lights annoy me but this is perfect. Everyone who sees it asks about it and compliments.It turns out it was taller (yes TALLER) than I expected. I half expected that I might have to set it on a short table but it's definitely for the floor. I love the switch being a foot switch. It's so simple.We have a 2 year old boy and he loves running up to it and slamming his hands on it like he's playing symbols. I'm happy to say that the paper-like shade is strong. Im sure if he was dead set on tearing the shade he could but it's a stronger type paper. The spiraling wire doesn't lose its shape easily either.After reading reviews I was very worried about whether we'd like it or not but I'm totally glad I purchased​.Like I said, I would love to buy more, maybe have one in each bedroom. But I feel like it might be less special. It's a great accent lamp. I would include a photo but with the light on it's too bright. With it off it's too dark. LolTotally recommend! It's a refreshing change as compared to the standard upward, bowl shaped, tall floor lamps.

This was really nice, but it was too short. I can't seem to find tall paper lamps that go basically to floor to top of the lamp. I bought one at IKEA years ago and looks like they no longer sell them. We did end up returning it because of the height, but if that is. Ot an issue it's a good lamp. We just went with something more steel and contemporary looking.

For the price, I think this lamp is fantastic. I personally don't think it's quite as flimsy as other reviewers made it sound. I mean, no, it's not rock solid. It's a 16 dollar lamp.And I'll agree that the size is a little awkward. I agree with the reviewer who said you should measure it out where you want to place it. Mine is next to a papasan chair, making this lamp the perfect height for reading. I'm using a basic 13w CFL (60 watt equivalent, I think) and it's bright enough to read by with no other lighting. In fact, it lights up the room fairly well. I think a more dim bulb might be nicer if I wanted to use the lamp purely for ambiance or to have it on while watching tv or something like that.The shade really is paper. It's only slightly thicker than rice or tissue paper, so yes, this thing will probably tear somewhat easily. It's not designed to take a beating.I've only just received it so I can't yet comment on longevity nor if it attracts dust and gets really dirty looking, but I'll probably update this review after I use the lamp for longer. For now, I'm very pleased with the purchase considering I'm on a very tight budget.

Here's the deal: I live in a tiny apartment with roommates. I don't live in a house with a grand piano, wine chiller, and three floors about me with a master bed laden with silk sheets. This is also a product from Ikea. Normally this is all I or anyone should right for an Ikea product-review. But I'm feeling so happy with this purchase that I will give it the four stars it deserves and explain why.When this arrived on my doorstep I thought the box contained a kindle. It was flat and small. Yes, this 46" floor lamp can be used for magic tricks and fool your friends. It comes disassembled and without a light bulb (so that's how they squished it down). Knowing Ikea products to be notoriously cheaply made, I carefully and slowly assembled the lamp. The metal wire frame (that is inside the lamp shade) came molded slightly off-center (surprise, surprise). So I carefully had to bend it so that it didn't look like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.Turned it on, and it lightens the room very well. A nice gentle soft light!

Price is higher than MRP. Actual MRP of product is 840 only

Didn't last long then 3 weeks. Only because i have a young child in the house.

Lampada molto carina, fa il suo effetto. L' ho presa per un regalo, è stato apprezzato. Ho dovuto comprare l' adattatore per la presa ma non mi è costato molto. Spedizione veloce e efficiente, montaggio facile, dimensioni della lampadina come da descrizione. Buon rapporto qualità-prezzo!

Super easy to assemble, but that is expected with an Ikea product. I like the lamp, it looks great in our living room and the foot on/off switch is great in my opinion. My advice is to buy the product WITHOUT the LED Bulb, as the price difference is huge and buying a pack of 2 Ikea LED bulbs is still less than the price of paying for the bulb to come with the floor lamp.
