Easy to set up with the right adapters, and produces HOT water
I got this to replace a unit from another company purchased last year with a one-month warranty. It worked fine last year, and again when I pulled it out of winter storage this year... but only once, then it completely quit. This one has a one-year warranty, so maybe it's better. It looks like it was made in the same factory with many of the same parts, and it mounted with exactly the same screw holes as the old one, so I'm only semi-optimistic about its longevity. At least for now it's working, and I must give it credit for producing hotter water than the old unit. That one was highly variable in the amount of heat it put out, and sometimes couldn't quite reach the temperature I like for a shower. This Camplux unit easily hits the temperature I like (115 degrees F, according to its display), and will go much hotter. The only fault I can identify so far is the sensitivity of the settings. The smallest change in the control dials will result in a big change in temperature. On the plus side, it is very repeatable from shower to shower, so doesn't require a lot of fiddling once you get it set the way you like it.This unit comes with some adapters to convert its British pipe threads to standard American garden hose threads, but that might not be exactly what you want, so be prepared to purchase other adapters. Other than that, it's easy to hang on a wall and simple to operate. I just hope this one lasts.

Very dependable and useful
This unit has exceeded expectations. It heats the shower water very well, and has enough heating power to make central Texas well water too hot for a shower. The flow and heat controls manage the temperature effectively. Service was good and prompt when we needed it. It is not freeze-tolerant, so note the instructions about opening the drain plug before any freezing temps come your way. The readout is in degrees Celsius, but even if you're accustomed to Fahrenheit, you can quickly learn what range of temps feels right. The shower spray is fine, so the water cools quickly as it passes through the air. That means one of the temperature adjustment options is how close you stand to the shower head. The exhaust vent does not get very hot after a 10-minute shower, indicating that the heat transfer from flame to the water is rather good.

When PG&E forces you off the grid
Our Camplux Water Heater saved us when we lost power for 28 days. We were able to hook the heater directly to our kitchen sink, shower and bathroom sink with no problem. The water was hot none stop. I love it and will always recommend it if someone is in the same situation or wants to use it outdoors/ off grid. The only issue that really wasn’t an issue was the heater got the water to hot. We were able to regulate it by both of us being on our cell phones and going back and forth till we got it just right. An amazing product, I highly recommend it. I will now use it for an outdoor kitchen.

Don’t bother
I’ve purchased 2 of these and they both stopped working. What a waste of money not to mention the waste of water when the second one cracked while I was away and water was shooting everywhere. The second one is still under warranty whatever that means. Camplux is going to send me parts and I have to fix it myself. They will not send an actual working unit. Plumbers don’t know anything about these units so you are on your own. I’m really hating this company and this product. I thought it would work so I was using it at an ADU I’ve rented out to medical staff. Now I lose money because I can’t provide hot water and lost my renter. Neither of us is happy and Camplux has their profit and keeps cranking out these unreliable units.

Works with 15 psi
We have a family cabin with gravity fed water, no electricity, and we carry in propane in 5 gallon cylinders. Before buying the Camplux 2.64 GPM water heater, I looked at many reviews concerning how many GPM the Camplux on demand water heater would deliver with our 15 PSI delivery pressure. I went to customer support before being and asking if they had a specification chart for GPM versus PSI. They could not produce such a thing and wrote back stating, "place a bucket of know quantity under your fixture, and with a stop watch, measure the time it takes to fill the bucket." Not helpful. So, to readers, it took 1 minute to fill my bucket to the 1.5 gallon mark. As pressure varies +/- 1 PSI and clogs happen in varying shades of grey at our cabin, your results may be different than mine. This is place to start on what to expect with flow versus water pressure for the Camplux 2.64.There are other oddities with this unit as well which I will discuss. There are two dials on the front of the unit. One for water flow and one for gas flow. With a low pressure system like ours, we found ourselves resetting the gas flow value often. There are two different fixtures at this cabin: a shower, and a kitchen sink. if both are being used at the same time, there is more than enough water flowing into the Camplux to trigger an ignition for heating. however, for example, if the shower is the sole fixture in use, then the shower valve must be turned entirely to the hot water side in order to allow a great enough water flow into the Camplux to trigger ignition. Once on, a slight amount of cold water can be added to the shower valve without the flame going out on the Camplux. Also, at 15 PSI, the unit does not modulate temperature. In other words, the system does not have a temperature controlled valve. This means that once a person sets the two knobs on the front of the heater to their desired temperature (there is a red LED temperature readout on the front panel), a change in water flow will change that initial temperature. If water flow goes down the temperature gets hotter and vice versa if the water flow goes higher. First world problems when a family has the privilege of owning a cabin retreat. However, beware, at low pressures like ours, flow governs temperature delivered. For an on demand water heater the construction meets minimum standards. The surrounding frame and panel is made from thin gauge steel and bends easily. I do not feel qualified to judge the systems on the inside, although I did open the heater up. Seems reasonably built for the price point and given that the ignition system can be run on (2) 1.5 volt D cells, it does the job and will work with 15 psi if you can tolerate the various flow to temperature fluctuations. I encourage other readers to leave their GPM versus PSI results in the comments below this review or in your own review as this information is hard to get.

Failed within a year of random use... But Camplux sent a new replacement unit!
This heater was easy to install. At first in July 2022, the unit would automatically turn on and ignite the burner, and it worked great for the remaining of the 2022 Season (about 10 uses in total, all for a 5-minute shower). Now: it's June 2023, so less than a year of use, while the unit had been properly drained and winterized back in October 2022, and the bloody thing will no longer start. The electronic display comes up for less than half-a-second, then will go dark and will not turn on again. Unreliable, most probably the electronics could not stand the winter season storage... Very disappointed, as this unit is somewhat expensive, at almost 400$. While awaiting a reply from the Camplux support Team, I am contemplating the option of gutting all the electronics and interlocks out of the unit and make it "handomatic" with toggle switches. I am NOT going to let my money go to waste.UPDATE: AFTER WRITING TO THE AFTERSALES DEPRATMENT, IT NOW SEEMS THAT CAMPLUX WILL SEND ME A NEW REPLACEMENT UNIT. THEY WERE ALSO VERY WILLING TO PROVIDE ME WITH A FULL REFUND. SO YES, IT'S DISAPPOINTING TO SEE THIS WATER HEATER FAILING WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF USE, BUT AT LEAST THIS SELLER STANDS BY ITS PRODUCT AND IS READY TO COMPENSATE ANY CAUSED INCONVENIENTS. WELL DONE ON AN EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!!

Quality unit, but unfortunately was shipped with a defective cold control knob. The contact to remedy the situation was handled professionally and with fairness. We ended up getting a partial refund and kept the unit. So far, it has worked very well!! Thank you, CampluxDirect. I would recommend this product!
